[Report] Luongo Remains Unhappy - Refusing Interview Requests - Continuing to Explore Options

Roberto Luongo is heading to Las Vegas this weekend to play in the World Series of Poker Main Event tournament, where he will represent the B.C. Lottery Corp.’s PlayNow.com brand.

Normally, Luongo would do some interviews to help promote PlayNow.com before sitting down to play in the $10,000 buy-in Texas hold ‘em event.

But Luongo is refusing to do live interviews to promote his appearance and for the Vancouver Canucks, that is not a good sign. Clearly, Luongo knows he would be asked hockey questions in any interview and his refusal to talk suggests he still isn’t ready to say he’s okay with coming back to Vancouver to be the Canucks’ No. 1 goalie.

Luongo has even cancelled a scheduled interview with the morning show on 99.3 The Fox, which is a longtime PlayNow.com sponsor.

Instead, BCLC will take “poker” questions on Twitter to Luongo, who will then provide a video-taped reply.

Chances are, any questions along the lines of ‘how do you feel about that Schneider trade to New Jersey’ won’t be answered.

Roberto Luongo is still looking at his options. We don't know yet if he'll accept to go back to Vancouver. #RDS

Those aren't sources. It's a blog and a twitter account for 2 people who haven't spoken to Luo, but are only reporting what they heard somewhere else. (And as far as I know, the "looking into my options" was like the day of the trade. Hardly a good time to get a clear picture of where his head will be come next season.)

Seriously, Luo's not talking to the press. So what? How many people here have said he should shut up sometimes? He's taking time to get used to the idea, to chill, and to make sure that he doesn't say anything that will cause a firestorm that will ruin his entire summer due to mean media mania.

If he's still not talking or saying he's "considering his options" come late August then we'll panic. Until then, I'm not worried.

There is not a single journalist that has anything good to say about this team these days.

And you wonder WHY Luongo doesn't want to talk to anybody?

Why would YOU want to talk to trash Botchford and then have what you say spun into negativity?

Seriously, I'm happy noone is speaking to these clowns. It's no ones business but their own. We'll find out when we find out.
