GMMG and this offseason

Lets be fair with the guy, be open-minded guys, thanks :)

-So he trades Schneider for 9th --> Horvat

-Steals shinkaruk at 24th

-If ANY of these 2 make the lineup this season, and make a significant impact, Gillis stays. Disagree?

-If the 2010 gold medal goalie Luongo picks it up and plays like the elite goalie he is, he stays ?

-Picks up a good Dman in yannik weber and Stanley cup 4th liner Richardson (GIVEN OUR CAP SITUATION)

- DID NOT move Edler when he had a chance (might've been getting lowballed, GM's knew that Edler had an NTC kicking in and pressure would be on Gillis)

-booth.

Let's see the player situation, please correct me if I'm off with anything, it would be much appreciated

Prospects -

Schroeder - People forget he played last season, developing, getting used to the nhl style gameplay, gillis might be confident in him?

Jensen - also looked good when he got called up, I'm not saying these guys were amazing !

Gaunce - most said he'd be ready for this upcoming season

Horvat - 9th overall, skates better than hodgson did when he got drafted, deeper draft

Shinkaruk - arguably comparable to Kane, parise, bure, playing style wise. Kid scores.

Etc.

Sedin - Sedin - Burrows

Kassian - Schroeder - Kesler

Shinkaruk - Horvat - Jensen ....longshot , kid line?

Weise - Richardson - Sestito. .. Seems like it has a little bet of everything, speed, grit, etc

Under Torts, I honestly think bur will stay with the twins because it brings the best out of all of them unlike when kassian played with them

I think he'll play Kesler wing because that bought the best out of him, we all know THAT year.

This guy isn't AV and if he sees adventurous offensive talent in the young guns, who's says they won't play?

SCHROEDER. We've all seen his playmaking skills, we can't deny it. Kassian with the big body, the tough Kesler, this guy won't get thrown around too much.?

Throw these players around, discuss.

GAUNCE

BOOTH

and hell, whoever else I missed.

So WHAT IF GMMG actually knows what he's doing ? I mean, I'm with you guys and I'm also like wth, but I just had an epiphany, WHAT IF, right? Discuss, tell me your thoughts.

My FA prediction is that he will assess the situation, debate, call a team media than a press conference to let everyone know he is assessing the situation, he will then inform us there are 4 teams he is assessing and then will start the process of processing those assessments.

In the end he will do nothing because he doesn't have the cap space.

Re-signing Tanev and smoothing things over with "the only guy I ever though worthy of being our #1" Luongo

I think expecting 3 prospects to play prominent roles on this team is unlikely. He absolutely has to have Corrado, Jensen, and a center not only make the team but contribute significantly.

He also needs big years from Booth, and Kassian. A little more reasonable to expect under a much better coach with much better systems.

I'm not even going to get into the goalie situation.

I don't see any room for Shinkaruk this season, but there is a glaring hole at center ice for Horvat to win.

Horvat has to beat out Gaunce, Schroeder and Lain, don't think that will happen.

LW

Sedin

Booth

Higgins

Sestitio

RW

Burrows

Kassian

Hansen

Weise

It seems that I am one of the few who think the Canucks as a whole are much better off today than prior to the start of July.

I think the club took huge steps to ensure we won't have to go through a rebuild. An incredibly difficult task to do without sucking for 3 or so years.
