мeтpо
I'm just wondering this... Why did he deserve all the hate he got when he was with us? He was used wrong and AV thought he'd be good as a 3rd line center but it didn't work, now all of the Canucks fans despise him. Why I ask? He did fine in my opinion on the 4th.. he wasn't a big guy but he made no mistakes and provided the 4th line with a consistent body out there. I say good luck to Ebbett with Pittsburgh because I guess I'm the only one that actually liked him when he was with the Canucks. He didn't deserve to be the scape goat. Some could argue Edler deserved it more than he did... Good luck to Ebbett on his future in the NHL.
Baggins
Didn't you get the memo? If you don't score 20 goals you're useless.
jatylo
I didn't mind him, in fact in the 2 live games i watched in Edmonton. He was one of maybe 3 noticeable players (in a good way) even though they were blowout losses.
TOMapleLaughs
Wasn't much of a scapegoat around here last season as, say, Booth, Raymond or Edler. But Ebbett just isn't very good. He did about what i expected.
Matthew Lombardi 18
Because CDC fans are some of the most fickle fans in a hockey fanbase. It reflects poorly on the team and there are so many whiners on these boards. Ebbett was a hometown boy too for Vancouver. He was a hard-worker but I thought that AV really did not have a clue about player management. I guess you could blame it on the player though and say "he didn't take the opportunity". AV just doesn't know how to make a player successful. He doesn't teach.
stexx
he was just a total misfit for how AV used him. The hate was more on AV for using ebbett in that role instead of another player.

Mustapha
I didn't think Ebbett received enough ice time to be hated.
ilduce39
Obviously if we are heaping generous amounts of blame everyone from the GM, Coach, Owner, #1 Goalie, Captain that we include some sweet, sweet blame for our depth defencemen and journeyman wingers. Fair is fair.

ilduce39
Oh, I forgot the copious amounts of blame we shoveled onto our 2nd line centre, 3rd line centre, 4th line centre, anybody's name that started in "D," Fin the mascot, other teams fans, members of the local media, members of the national media, Canucks fans we disagreed with, fellow Canucks fans happened to agree with but beat us to the punch by posting our thoughts before we could get them out, radio talk show hosts, the philipino lady selling the hot dogs.... Psycho_Path
More or less because he was taking ice time Schroeder should have. It wasn't the fact that Ebbett was bad (he wasn't, though wasn't great) it was that the ice time should have gone to one of our younger players like Schroeder
Smashian Kassian
Ebbett was forced into positions he had no place being in, not his fault more so AV's, and think the hate on him stemmed from the AV hate.
Avicii
Because stupid fans thought his 4 minutes of ice-time was the reason we haven't won the cup for the past 2 years.

NightHawkSniper
Too many stupid penalties late in games, you must've been asleep by then.
Smashian Kassian
What positions? He was never on the powerplay nor did he get 20 mins a game playing on the 3rd or 4th line. He was the only depth when the canucks were plagued by injuries. People tend to hold AV accountable for everything when they can't find anyone else to blame. 73 Percent
He did play on the 2nd & 3rd lines alot, it also has to do with who was playing under him, like when Schroeder was playing under him.
