smithers joe Posted July 7, 2013 Share Posted July 7, 2013 AV used ebbett ahead of shroeder and some others because he was dependable defensively....same as AV used rome ahead of ballard.....AV was a good coach and used the players he trusted,,,,his job was to win games....some people hated him for that... I was one of the ones that wanted Schroeder over ebbett but its not that I loved Schroeder (in fact I don't think he should make the team this year) it's that goal scoring was the teams biggest playoff problem and going with and getting a guy like Schroeder ready for the playoffs was a better option last year. All season long we heard the Ebbett hate -all for precious Jordan whom had a shoulder that needed surgery ,sucked on faceoffs and did not play as defensively responsible as Ebbett. Jordan will do better this year but if he sucks defensively he will see less ice with Torts than with AV-unless the .org are going to moneyball him in a trade.
