TheRussianRocket.
We all know the Detroit Red Wings have been dominating the past decade plus and have a blueprint for success around the league. This was however with them playing in the West. Now that they are moving to the Eastern Conference next season, do you think Detroit will slow down or excel? Detroit is known as a puck possession team and it's what most teams are in the West. However in the East, teams play much more aggressively and recklessly and it's a much more uptempo, fast paced, offensive game. With that, Detroit ultimately has to decide whether to adapt to the East or let the East adapt to them and it's going to be intriguing to see what happens. I personally think the Wings are too good especially under Babcock that they'll keep their same style of gameplay and still succeed while making Eastern teams adapt to their style of game instead of vise versa. JensenFan2011
with all the signings they made they will do just fine....
Warhippy
Detroit plays that puck possession game too well for fast up tempo to get to them. They control the flow of play like no other team in the west on top of that possession game. No question they'll do fine and probably extended their playoff run by a few more years. Batmania
They will win the east.
Captain Aerosex
Puck possession teams like Boston seem to do pretty well for themselves out East...the Wings will do fine, if not better.

CALGARY!
Detroit will be a big threat in the east. Coming from a more competitive western conference they will be one of the top 5 for sure if not top 3 in the east.
Apples
Its going to be fun watching Datsyuk face the top players in the Easter like Crosby, Stamkos, Chara, etc. Definitely going to change the eastern conference
Go Faulk Yourself
I find it unfair that the east has the likes of Datsyuk, Crosby, Malkin, Ovechkin, Stamkos, Tavares.
johngould21
It will make it more difficult for the Leafs, Carolina, TBay, Washington, Philly to name a few, with the Wings in the East. Two reasons, Datsyuk and Zetterberg.

Amish Rake Fighter
They'll probably end up in the top 4, the race for the last 2 or 3 spots should be fun to watch though, it just got a little tougher
bloodyknukles
i think the wings are gonna get beat up.
Master Mind
The wings are now in the easier conference, so I think they should do just fine. Their style of play will force other teams to adapt to them. I see them winning their division this year, and have the best chance at making the final 4.
Ghostsof1915
I think Detroit will be successful no matter what conference they play in.
-Vintage Canuck-
Some people are already saying they are one of the favourites to win from the East with the acquisitions of Alfredsson and Weiss.
N7Nucks
The east is far less competitive then the west. And not as physical so it's perfect for them. Datsyuk will have a field day there.
Pears
With adding Alfredsson and Weiss to their top six they'll be more than fine.
UFCanuck
Columbus play a tough western conference style game, I can see them doing very well in the East. Detroit is much better with Weiss as their 2nd line center, I think they'll be a top 6 team.
c00kies
Both the Jackets and Wings will do well in the East. The Wings will be happy about their travel schedule now too.
