CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter)

(these totals are compiled with the bonus cushion)

SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $64,279,833; BONUSES: $0

CAP SPACE (23-man roster): $20,167

This would give our top 6 some help with scoring, and our bottom 6 would also be extremely deep. Even though people say we are not going after Blum anymore, I think we can still end up signing him.

Thoughts?

I assume you mean performance bonuses for Jagr, like what Boston gave to Iginla.

We can exceed the cap by 7.5% on bonuses, for a player over 35, but they would then count against next year's cap.

I wouldn't mind a deal like that for Jagr actually. The cap will go up next season, and we should have 1 or 2 more young guys ready to step up, on ELC's.
