Noseforthenet
Schroeder, Gaunce, Horvat, Jensen, Shinkaruk. 5 guys hoping to make the forward group. Most of the roster spots are locks. To me, there are the two bottom 6 center positions that could be up for grabs for sure if Schroeder, Gaunce or Horvat can step up, but I was also thinking there could be two other slots. Booth's and Kassian's. Both of them better come into camp in shape and ready to play, because both Shinkaruk and Jensen will definitely give a hard push. Maybe one makes it. I dunno?! Or maybe Gaunce makes the team as a left wing because he switched to the wing in the OHL playoffs last year. A guy like him would be very beneficial to this team. Versatile players for depth are always helpful. I know you all are gonna say Santorelli this and Richardson that, but we all know they are stop gaps for these young guys, should they not make the team. They can fill out the 4th line winger slots if they get bested by Gaunce, Horvat, or Schroeder. So back to my original thought: does anyone here think that one or two of our prospects can bump someone out of their spot on the roster? (IE: Booth, Kassian, Santorelli, Richardson, Weise)

Noseforthenet
Another interesting wrinkle to this, if people think Gaunce is miles ahead of Shinkaruk in terms of development...7 months apart in age. That's it. Not that age matters. I am merely suggesting that their development curves may be closer than we think.

Papayas
Lol Kassian is not going to be send down next season. He's a vital part of the Canucks future and he will perform better with one full NHL season under the belt and a new coach who is known for letting young player play. He's exact the type of player Tor like.

JensenFan2011
Let me first say that there's almost no chance Shink (or Gaunce for that matter) actually makes the team out of camp. But IMO, Shink almost has a better chance of making the team over almost anyone other than Schroeder. Put him on Kes's wing opposite of say Bur and he won't have much defensive responsibility...all he has to do is score goals and shoot the puck while not being a liability. He looks capable of doing that....and dare I say possibly even more prepared than Jensen for that role. Let Bur/Kes worry about the defensive play and let the kid snipe. Could be the top 6 guy we need... Unlikely he's ready but IMO he's got the best of the outside chance. In comparison, Gaunce on the 3rd would be expected to be much more well rounded and responsible...something I think requires a bit more seasoning personally. -Vintage Canuck-
I would give guys like Horvat and Shinkaruk another year and not rush them this quickly. That leaves us with Schroeder, Gaunce, and Jensen. Most likely Schroeder and Gaunce will be competing for the 3rd line center spot and I could Jensen jumping in and out in case there's an injury. Zoolander
I like shinkaruk he is a great player loves to win and a great person. However Jensen is way more prepared for the NHL than Shinkaruk is.

JensenFan2011
Maybe physically, because he's taller and about 15lbs heavier, but mentally I think the edge might go to Shinkaruk. He captained his WHL team and has played N.A hockey a lot longer. Both are great prospects though and will likely crack our top 6 eventually

Papayas
Yeah, maybe. But one thing Torts doesn't like is lazy players! He better not come in thinking he's a lock, because he isn't. And we all saw what happened to Booth at last years camp. He came in thinking he was a lock, so he was out of shape and injured himself. This isn't Florida's camp. Those two, I really feel might end up being bumped if they don't come to camp in shape, ready to compete!
