(Proposal) Retool (Eberle and Nuge)

Recommended Posts

Trade Booth, Edler, Gaunce, Schroeder, 2014 1st and 2015 1st for Nugent Hopkins and Eberle. Big trade, shakes things up, edmonton still has hall and yakupov and get schroeder, gaunce and booth, it lets gagner become #1 center that he believes he can be. they get two firsts in two very deep drafts. obtain center depth

You can trade all of those guys and have to know that Eberle is worth $6 million so the Nuge is worth $6 million which means...ya we gave up 4-5 guys for 2 guys with the exact same cap hit.

Congratulations, you are now Mike Milburry

 Edler is actually a top 2 defenseman contrary to what most CDCers like to believe. And he can play defense, which that part of his game will most certainly improve under Torts. And don't say Gaunce is unproven. Even though he is, you're just saying that to support your argument. He's our fourth best prospect behind Horvat, Shinkaruk, and Schroeder.

As for the trade, Edmonton laughs. They however might consider a Edler for Yakupov deal.

Even putting aside the trade values and contract values for a minute, there is really zero chance that Edmonton would move TWO franchise level players (in the eyes of the team and their fans) in a trade like this.

They lose vital top 6 center depth and a top line winger for a dman and a less than sure thing Booth. The rest just puts them back in rebuild mode where they have already been for two long.

Edmonton would trade maybe one of their top guys but not two imo. Even if the trade value is somewhat reasonable. It just does not make them better now.

Hopkins = 9.0 B prospect grade. Now an NHLer. 1st overall pick....

Edler is a top 4 defenseman when he's on a slump, which is most of the time... If he plays decent defense, he's a top 2.

Gaunce hasn't played a game in a professional league... I don't know how hard that is to understand.

Edler for Yakupov? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I needed a laugh, thanks.

No lol. Nugent-Hopkins = 1st overall pick, 9.0 B prospect (Joe Thornton comparable) = Franchise talent

Edler = top 4 defenseman who can't play defense. Gaunce = unproven

Schroeder = small undersized forward, Jensen = top 6 forward potential, 2 1sts (high 20's picks), Booth = no value

Eberle = 8.5 B prospect, (Rick Nash comparable) = Franchise talent

You're way off bud

If I'm off, you're out of this world. Now I doubt edmonton trades both of these players, the value is very fair, however they would probably not want to trade 2 of their 5 future franchise players. 1 I could see for sure. So, nugent hopkins for edler and gaunce alone is close, add maybe a first and they say yes. They need defense. Badly. They already have scoring up front and can afford to lose some. Now I also think the nuge is the least likely to lleave out of the big 4, because he is a center. And now to eberle: schroeder isn't needed as much if they don't get rid of the nuge, but 2 firsts in two very deep drafts is very valuable. Especially to a rebuilding team. And booth actually has a lot of value, especially to the oilers who really wanted clarkson. Clarkson and booth are basically the same player but booth is cheaper. I would want booth on my team more then clarkson even ignoring the money part. Booth is a great replacement for eberle while adding much needed toughness and they get two firsts. And they get a very good prospect in jensen who has the potential to be as good as eberle with a more physical touch. So these trade could make sense individually but not likely both at the same time. Or both period. And by the way edler for yakupov would be perfect for both teams.
