A 28-year-old Toronto man was stopped and fined twice within 14 minutes on Sunday for using his cellphone while driving, police say.

He was first stopped at 7:44 p.m. The officer told him about the province's zero tolerance policy and issued him a ticket.

Police said a second officer spotted him using his phone while driving and pulled him over at 7:58 p.m. The driver admitted to the officer he had just been stopped and ticketed for the same offence. He was issued another ticket.

The two tickets add up to $310.

Police said the car was equipped with hands-free phone technology.

Definition of bloody stupid...nothing else really needs to be said.

I dunno about you guys, but that kind of stupidity (getting caught twice in 14 minutes) and disregard for everyone's safety should have a greater punishment than just 2 fines. Impounded car/license suspension sounds good -- anything really to get that moron off the road!
