Any thoughts on Booth playing with the Twins?

Recommended Posts

Just a thought guys. I hope ppl don't start freaking out cuz its a dumb idea.

Even with his lack of productivity last year. He is still considered a snipper rather then a set up man. If we can move him over to right side to play on the first line i think it can be great. We've always looked to add a true snipper to play eith the twins instead of just fillers for the past years. What better way to gain confidence than to get set up every night by the twins. We obviously dont have cap to sign anyone significant so y not give this a try.

Thoughts?

I really really really dont like seeing Kassian with the teins on the first line. From where he is right now from a skill level he is not first line worthy. Im sure he can get there in the future if he works really hard but not right now. First lines are ment for game changers. Its shouldnt be for projects. But im not saying to demote him to the 4th line either. Maybe 3rd line for now and let him move up by proving he got game.

Dont know if Booth on the RW is a good move. He struggles as is and moving him off his wing would likely only make things worse. He's not exactly someone who can protect the twins either. Id try it in pre season for fun but unlikely to work IMO

Booth had a few games with the Sedins before and didn't look too great with them. He's less of a cycler and more of a on-the-rush type. He was successful in some parts, but not at keeping long, sustained pressure.

He has not really shown any knack for puck control, which is the Twins game. I am not sure how he compliments them?

Kass is better at that, so has a chance.

They also need a guy who does their dirty work for them. Kass is capable of doing so on the boards, and driving or parking himself in front of the net. Burrows worked great because he does all that plus all their fore checking. Kassian will be successful if he adds this to his repertoire. Otherwise we will probably re-visit the obvious.
