mrsasaki
Shot in the dark: Drouin - Reinhart - Mantha <-- deadly offense Shinkaruk - Petan - Rychel <-- Shink and Petan playe together in the super series, Rychel could open up space for them (mostly Petan due to his size), and Shinkaruk isn't bad in the corners from what I've heard Horvat - Laughton - Gauthier <-- shutdown line, all are good offensively too Hudon - McDavid - Lazar <-- not really a 4th line, just more scoring. Depending on the game you might put Anderson in for McDavid (against teams like Russia) Anderson No idea for defense. Comrie I think is the favourite to be the starter, but I think Patterson will grab it by the end of the tournament.

Gauthier and Horvat are known as faceoff specialist, I can't see team Canada playing both of them at wing. Possibly Horvat, but if Gauthier makes the team it will be a faceoff specialist. Comrie didn't make the final camp roster, he's gone unless Patterson or Fucale get injured.
canucks3322
it looks like Morgan Rielly will play for Canada, he's been in and out of the lineup also the Leafs called up John Michael Liles, so it looks like he's the 8th d-man for them
Bure fan
Frank Corrado won't make it or is he not eligible ? Edit: did my own research and saw that he is older than it thought haha.
Rypien37
So with Feaster fired...I hope Burkie makes the right move and releases Monahan for the tournament. Just imagining a top line of: Drouin - Monahan - Mantha

timberz21
I guess Laughton and Horvat are needed for their two way game. Per Mark Master's twitter : PP1-Drouin-Petan-Lazar-Pouliot-Dumba PP2-Reinhart-McDavid-Mantha-Ekblad-Morrisey Not sure why Sutter is so high on Lazar, to have him on the 1st line and 1st PP, with all the firepower they have? Yet last time Canada won gold Esposito and Didomenico was playing on the 1st line with Tavares (even though the best line was Eberle-Hodgson-Boychuk). I don't really know him since i'm from the east. Anyone has a little scouting on him?

Bo will make the team of course based on his two-way play, while Hunter is decent defensively I can't see him making the team as anything other than a game breaking scoring forward. CraazyCanuck
Drouin - Laughton - Mantha Reinhart - Horvat - Lazar Rychel - Petan - Hudon Shinkaruk - Gauthier - Anderson Balanced size and skill ^ Sutter likes bigger Centers who are strong down low defensively. Reinhart Dumba Morrisey Ekblad Pouliot Severson Fucale Paterson
Nas19
And yet Crosby did not play in the World Juniors 2 years before his draft year. Yeah he did.

This is why Canada keeps losing. This tournament is purely about skill with all the European teams in it and yet Canada still wants to play a physical game. This is why we haven't won gold in while. Team has too many grinders in it and not enough firing power. Last year was perfect example where they tried to play a physical game by having guys like Camara and Lipon. Those guys are simply NOT suited for World Junior hockey cuz we all no IIHF always penalizes hard hits from Canada. Guys like Girard, Gauthier, and Anderson shouldn't be on this team over guys like Domi and Gaunce. It would be outrageous for them not to take Shinkaruk because in this tournament ALL four lines should be able to score yet Hockey Canada keeps wanting a traditional North American energy/physical fourth line. It just doesn't work in this tournament man. Look at our past rosters, the fourth line never scores while teams like Sweden and Russia can roll all 4 lines. I agree with the past few years, specially with McKinnon and Drouin being sheltered, but this year I don't think it's the case. Drouin, Petan, Mantha, Reinhart, McDavid, Lazar, Shinkaruk are purely offensive players. Add Horvat, Laughton and Hudon who are excellent two ways. You still need players like Gatuhier, Girard, Anderson, Leier physicality/defense and for PK. However it is likely that they won't all make the team, 1 or 2 will be cut. I was there in Ottawa in 2009 when Esposito and Didomenico were playing on the 1st line with Tavares and our 3rd/4th line was Della Rovere-Cormier-Kane. It is for the same reason, Mike Richard, Brendan Morrow, made the Olympic team.

Rypien37
Shinks been cut. Saw that coming. He did NOT have a good game against Finland and hasn't played overly great with the Tigers. The right decision. Side note: No idea why Curtis Lazar is being pegged as the first line RW. I know there have been concerns over Mantha's compete, but he is a no brainer for the first line wing spot. The purest offensive player on the team asides from Drouin. He also had a goal and assist today. Drouin - Petan - Mantha should be the 1st line. Felix Girard should be the last cut.
UFCanuck
Still surprised Max Domi didn't even get invited to the Camp. They could have put him on a line with Horvat and they already know each others tendencies. Imagine if we took Domi instead of Horvat like some people on CDC wanted, now that would have been funny.
