qwijibo
Good for them. Hopefully they can ice a better defence in front of him this year and give him a little support
DeNiro
Hopefully this will kill Luongo's day dreams of playing in Florida. They have their number 1 now.

Keslerific
That's a number 1 goalie? So now number one goalies only have to have played 30 or so games and be completely mediocre as well? Even on a pretty stack San Antonio team he isn't that good. I would say Florida has their backup in place, now they need a starter. Markstrom MIGHT become a starter, but he definitely isn't right now.

Plaguez
He has also played 85 games in the SEL. Every goalie has to start somewhere. On a rebuilding team it's not as much of an issue. They'll groom him into a number 1 by playing him and letting him make mistakes. Every young goalie starts out this way.

DeNiro
No. Most young goalies start out like Schneider, Rask or bernier. They play a back up role, learning behind quality starters for years and when they have proven they can handle the role, they get it. I don't like the plan of giving a rookie with limited experience in the NHL and almost all of it bad the starting role. They run a huge risk of ruining his career by smashing his confidence. Yeah, it works some times, but usually briefly, like Raycroft or The Masons. I'm a goalie fan, I try to follow them closely and I don't think this is the best way to develope Markstrom. He isn't ready.
Plum
Except just as many goalies start out without being a backup for very long. Crawford and Quick are the most recent examples.
DeNiro
They are still learning from the starters and playing limited games until they can handle it.
Nuxfanabroad
Gotta strong feeling someone in the old southeast, TBay, Flor, Wash, or Car will need Lu before mid-season. It'll be interesting if sentiment changes(mainly on his contract), if he plays very well. Wonder if Lu would accept any/all of these destinations? Also curious if our young 'tenders could come through? Sorry 'bout highjacking yer thread there, Jacob.
