flamesfaninsurrey
Canucks are in a unique position where you have room for affordable depth players and both Det and NYR need to make room: To Van Emmerton Eaves 3rd rounder To Det 4th rounder To Van Asham Powe 4th rounder To NYR 5th rounder Vancouver rounds out their bottom six and improves draft position. Detroit/NYR make roster/cap room to sign their rfas.

flamesfaninsurrey
Why would they? They would have roster space and cap room to sign their rfas. Cap space is a commodity and I can see teams 'paying' other teams in the form of a draft pick to take on money. You guys can average approx 1.2M per signing so these guys fit in your budget. Emmerton would be a good 4th line C and you could move Richardson to the wing. Powe is a serviceable 3-4th line LW. Even if you take only one of the players per team it creates room for them which beats burying the contract in the minors.

Drouin
Lol. So we're giving giving away our later draft picks and we get earlier ones, not to mention bottom 6 forwards? Awesome.
