Franz Liszt
- Fits under salary cap - Helps team going forward, depth wise - Brackets [##] are number of contracts after each move - Read end notes as well, please In order from most to least likely: 1. Re-Sign Tanev & Weise Tanev: 2 years @ 3.25 million contract. $1.625 cap hit Weise: 1 year @ $750,000 two way contract. $150,000 at AHL This is the main priority. Primarily for re-signing Tanev, Weise is 50/50 at this point. [44] 2. To MTL: Yann Sauvé & Darren Archibald To VAN: MTL 2014 3rd A way to gain a mid-draft pick for next year while relieving 2 contracts. [42] 3. Sign Bo Horvat & Hunter Shinkaruk to their ELC's They will eventually sign... I hope. [44] 4. Re-sign Jordan Schroeder to a 1 year @ $750,000 two way contract. $200,000 at AHL He will help our center depth with experience on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th lines. [45] 5. Sign Mark Fistric to 2 years @1.85 million contract. $0.925 cap hit Former Vancouver Giant, upgrade on Alberts and he's still young. [46] 6. Sign Colton Gillies to 1 year @ $625,000 two way contract. $125,000 at AHL Local kid, hasn't lived up to potential, would help depth in AHL and NHL. [47] 7. Sign Steve Montador to 2 years @ $1.65 million contract, two way for 1st year at $325,000 at AHL Experienced RHD, also local guy. 33 but still has lots left. Concussion issues, but adds good depth. [48] 8. Sign Brad Boyes to 1 year @ $2 million contract Unlikely at this point, but he can play 2nd line LW and also 3C. Versatile player. [49] 9. Sign Nikolay Zherdev to 1 year @ 1 million Had most success under Tortorella with a 58 point season. Pure sniper. Can play 1st-4th line RW. [50] 10. To FLA: Alex Friesen / Steven Anthony To VAN: 2014 7th Relieving a contract. [49] 11. Sign Gilbert Brule to 1 year @ $750,000 two way contract. $200,000 at AHL Center depth. We obviously need center depth. [50] ROSTERS TO START THE SEASON: Vancouver Canucks: Sedin Sedin Kassian/Zherdev Burrows Kesler Zherdev/Boyes Booth Brule Boyes/Kassian Higgins Richardson Hansen Sestito, Santorelli Hamhuis Bieksa Edler Tanev Garrison Corrado/Montador Fistric, Weber Luongo & Lack/Ericsson Utica Comets: Jensen Gaunce/Brule Ferriero Gillies Brule/Schroeder Weise Defazio Lain Mallet Anthony/Friesen Grenier Blomstrand Pelletier Andersson Montador/Corrado Tommernes Polasek McEneny Biega Mullen, Blain Ericsson/Lack & Cannata ENDNOTES: - The reason for so many 2-way contracts, is for injury depth. - Pick and 4 forwards, 3 defenders and 1 goalie that could go on IR - Let's say Booth, Richardson, Zherdev & Sestito for forwards - Corrado, Edler & Weber for defenders - Lack for goaltenders - All the players that replace the NHL spot are all on either an ELC or 2-way deal ROSTER AFTER 7 INJURIES Sedin Sedin Kassian Burrows Kesler Boyes Higgins Brule Hansen Gillies/Jensen Santorelli Weise Hamhuis Bieksa Garrison Tanev Fistric Montador Luongo & Ericsson/Cannata

qwijibo
I can't see why Montreal would make that trade. Montreal is deep in defensive and left wing prospects. Both those guys would be far down the depth chart in Montreal. No reason for them to waste contracts on them

Wiznac
Yes, but Montreal lacks RWs and LHDs, which Archibald and Sauvé are. They also add much needed size, which they also bring.

bigpush
I don't agree with a bunch of the signings (Zherdev, Montador, Boyes) and think the Mtl trade is unlikley but good post. Gaunce cannot play in AHL next year as well. I doubt you will get Schroeder or Weise on a 2way deal and there is no way IMO that the canucks will send them through waivers as they will be picked up. Wherever they start the season they end up IMO. Here is my remaining 8 contracts 1 way deals: Re-sign Tanev 4.5 million over 3 years [43] Weise 1 year at 800K [44] Schroeder 2 million over 2 years [45] Sign 1 of Jerred Smithson, Tim Brent, David Steckel or Mathew Lombardi to a 1 year deal at 950K [46] Sign Greg Zanon 1 year at 950K [47] 2 way deal : Lain [48] Archibald [49] leave one remaining contract for the possibility of either Horvat/Shinkaruk making it or another player signed throughout the year. Sedin Sedin Kassian Burrows Kesler Booth Higgins Schroeder Hansen Richardson Brent Weise Sestito, Santorelli Hamhuis Bieksa Edler Tanev Garrison Corrado Weber/Zanon Luongo Lack

Me_
Don't make another proposal in someone else's proposal, just make another thread. As for this one, does it fit under the cap? I think only signing Gillies over Brule too, is better. We already have so much center depth, and we get to keep Friesen and Anthony. Look at our center depth Sedin,Kesler,Schroeder,Gaunce,Richardson,Santorelli,Gillies. Do we really need Brule?
Franz Liszt
Montreal isn't lacking in wingers at all. They have Collberg, Holland, Thomas, Quailer, Hudon, Bozon, and Macmillan. All of whom are projected to be better than Archibald. Not to mention Calder runner up Gallagher. PLUS they just drafted McCarron (6'5" 235) in the first round and de la Rose (6'2" 190) in the 2nd round. As far as left shooting Defenceman go they have Beaulieu, Tinordi (6'7" 212), Thrower (not that big but TOUGH), and Pateryn (6'3" 214) that are all projected to be better than Sauve, who has regressed significantly from initial assesments. You're trying to take B level prospects from a team with a weak prospect pool and dump them on a team that has a much better prospect pool. It makes no sense for either team. I'm not hijacking this thread with a new subject, I'm giving an opinion of how I would fill out the contracts. As for this one, does it fit under the cap?
