EternalCanuckFan
Rumor can be accessed here. I know it's an Eklund rumor so take it for what it's worth (some will say it's worth nothing) but in today's blog post he has the Canucks competing with the Islanders for Brad Boyes. Brad Boyes' HockeyDB profile is here. He's several season removed from his two most successful campaigns with the Blues (43 goals/65 pts in '07-'08 and 33 goals/72 pts in '08-'09) but had a respectable showing last season with the Islanders (10 goals/35 pts). If the Canucks are indeed after Boyes, I'm not sure how he fits on the team. From what I remember, he is a natural center but he has been most successful on the wing. I don't recall him being a defensive stalwart so 3rd line C is unlikely to be where his duties will lie. The Canucks already have a full compliment of wingers unless any trades are made - I am assuming here that Kassian is going to be given a more consistent opportunity to contribute in the top-6. TOMapleLaughs
So... No opportunities for young players? Sounds about right. But it's Eklund.
Kryten
So we can pretty much scrap any chance of Boyes joining the team. Eklund is always 100% right if you just use the opposite of what he predicts (except with the Flyers of course).
mpt
Sedin Sedin Kassian/Burrows Burrows Kesler Boyes Hansen Horvat/Gaunce/Schroeder Higgins Weise Richardson Sestito/Santorelli Then Booth to float around for injuries Pretty decent lineup IMO
CanuckRow
Can be worth the bargain for 2Mill a year, in the right situation of course.

euphoria/
his numbers are only inflated because he was playing with tavares.
Warhippy
My head hurts. Eklund DOES know our cap situation right? He DOES know we still have ELC's and a Tanev to clear right? This is why anything associated with that name needs never be repeated. We cannot afford him no matter how attractive a player he is

Canucks fan in chicago
It's Eklund, most of this stuff he makes up on the spot I guarantee it..
apollo
No harm in having an extra center. This is who mg should have traded for instead of roybaby. I much rather boyes on the second line wing than booth. Is he good at face offs?
Henrik Kesler
If the Canucks are indeed going after him, its for Kesler insurance in the event Kes has another injury this season.

timberz21
I could have seen it, if Booth would have been bought out, unless Booth is still injured and won't start the season. Kassian and Jensen will fight for a top 6 spot, to play with Sedins, Burr, Kes, Booth.
Aladeen
Would be a great acquisition at the right price no doubt, but considering the source, I won't hold my breath. Booth - Kesler - Boyes could be a great line potentially.
-Vintage Canuck-
Woah, never knew he had a 40+ Goal Season before. I would sign him depending on the price. Maybe could fit well with the Sedins. On the other hand, I also don't want to lose Chris Tanev. I guess re-signing him should be Priority #1.
Nicklas Bo Hunter
the canucks really need to use this year to give Kassian and Jensen a chance...... please just let them fight for the spot.
apollo
You forget the ils were in a playoff spot so he most likely wasn't on the market at trade deadline
thad
This doesn't make sense. I mean its awesome if we get him but we'd have to make a trade to fit him in.
