-Vintage Canuck-
Langenbrunner on retirement: 'I'm not ready yet': If Langenbrunner has his way, it would be as a member of the Minnesota Wild. His wife, Elizabeth, works as an intern in the state prison system; their daughter, Laine, will be a sophomore at Shattuck-St. Mary’s in Faribault, Minn.; and their sons, Landon and Mason, are involved in youth hockey. In other words, the hometown team would be a perfect fit. “I’ve been pushing my (agent) to do some talking (to the Wild) for me,” said Langenbrunner, who has been staying at his lakehome in Moose Lake since mid-June. “That would, obviously, be the ideal situation from a family standpoint. I understand what they are trying to do (with recent personnel moves) and who knows what their choice will be, but I would welcome an opportunity to play there.” http://www.duluthnewstribune.com/event/article/id/272694/group/Sports/

Ilya Mikheyev
2011-2012 his play took a very clear, big step back. Last year he only played 4 reg. season games and 0 playoff games (none abroad). He's 38 or so. I have to say that, at best, he's probably a 4th line winger. Maybe he fits there because of his leadership, experience and friendship with Parise. IMO he'd be a decent 4th liner on small contract. Wonder if the Wild and/or Jamie will think the same thing or not.

kazin!
Only hometown guys go there... we do have that problem. What big, non Minnesota native free-agent has signed there recently? Although it makes sense for players to want to player there; great foundation, top-rated prospect pool and arguably the best hockey fans south of the border.
