Good question.

What I like:

Many food options and good food in general

Mountains/skiing

Not too cold in the winter and not too hot in the summer

What I don't like:

Spring allergies

Rain and constant weather shift

Skewed cultural diversity

Snobby/arrogant women

my favourite thing about vancouver is the great culture. the endless amount of things to do, interesting people to speak to, and just constant reminders of the city's great, extensive history

JUST KIDDING

i don't know, maybe the beach or the quaintness of granville island

pretty much all i can think of

The West Side beaches... Locarno, Jerhico, Spanish Banks East and West, Wreck...

The UBC Campus including Pacific Spirit Park / Endowment Lands...

Stanley Park, especially the Seawall and the Aquarium...

White Rock, Steveston, Langley City (Krazy Bob's)...

My old "hood", Kerrisdale... Kerrisdale Elementary, Point Grey Secondary, Kerrisdale Arena, The shopping strip, Minerva's, Kerrisdale and Dunbar Community Centres...

I love Vancouver, even though I am a Northerner now!

Gotta be the setting. The way the city is integrated with the mountains, forests, oceans etc. Pretty hard to find in a major city.

Also, the people hating on Vancouver have probably never lived anywhere else. They don't know how good they have it.

Not too cold in the winter and not too hot in the summer (yeah the climate is pretty awesome!)

Things are more expensive here than in other major cities (e.g. L.A)

Endless amounts of beautiful areas to run/bike with friends from Stanley Park Seawall to Watershed in Delta to Deer Lake in Burnaby.

Chief/Grouse Grind/Lions/Cypess hiking

Finding cool places to chill, other day found this awesome place under the Cambie St bridge right beside the polka dot piano & bike lane. SUPER chill.

Diverse delicacies, as a foodie I love it.

and of course, the endless opportunity to play year round hockey/soccer and volleyball

I love everything about it, except how it's becoming the playground of the rich and famous and, in the process, leaving some of us in the dust.

I love the backdrop...the mountains/water. I especially love the wildlife - I simply bike ride down the street from my place to enjoy eagles, herons, seals/sea lions. It's spectacular scenery. I love the Fraser River and spend much of my quality/me time sitting on the banks of it.

By far, my favourite spot is Garry Point and the dyke trails in Richmond. To be able to ride a bike around the city and enjoy the views is something special...I don't have the luxury of traveling abroad but don't ever feel shortchanged with this option available to me.

I think it's lost a bit of the unique "feel" in Vancouver that it once had...the music scene, in particular, used to be very cool here. Underground/punk type clubs that were rich with culture and history that would only be fully appreciated AFTER their demise. Spent many nights trudging to the Smiling Buddha to watch my brother in law to be's band. Catching shows by DOA, Black Flag and other bands that would likely not fit in to today's Vancouver. It's cleaned up and trendier, but has lost some of its charm through that as far as I'm concerned.

Went back through some old photos by Foncie recently online (Vancouver street photographer of the 50's, 60's, 70's). That was Vancouver, in all its splendor...it's how I remember it from my childhood days.

I love the track at Hastings...that's one of my favourite Saturday afternoon hangouts. Beautiful there, and it's one of the things that hasn't changed over the years. :)
