Its just invites to evaluate those young guys, its pretty unlikely that guys like bjugstad, trouba and even jones actually make the team barring a rash of injuries. However, the actual team selected will be able to do damage in the olympics, it'll mostly be guys from the 2010 silver medal team, and have tremendous goaltending with them, which is key in tournaments Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The others one I agree on, but those 2 are really good players who have a good chance at making the team. yup looks like the US is looking ahead to 2018, same reason John Gibson likely got an invite in net and Beau Bennett for forward.
