Henrik Kesler
I'd be fine with them signing the exact same contract they are currently on.
aGENT
Anyone saying south of 6 is crazy. Perry and Getzlaf both recently signed long contacts for over 8. Even at a discount that puts the Sedins around the 7 million mark on a shorter deal. I am expecting 3 or 4 years at around 7.
canuckfan85
if I were them I would sign a contract like 3.75 mill for 6 years and say "we wont to win the cup with the canucks, we will take an obscene home town discount, whoever wants to win out there...come sign with us, we want you, we have left money on the table so you can come here." the ultimate captain move
TheRussianRocket.
Realistic: 4-6 years @ $6.1 mill per What would be nice and somewhat possible: 3-5 years @ $5-$5.5 mill per

Lonny_Bohonos_14
Those guys both are entering the meaty prime of their playing years. The high dollar years. The twins are inching their way in to the twilight of theirs. They're not directly comparable. It's quite arguable they'll transition to being our (very good) second line by the end of a say four year deal. It's also quite arguable that Perry/Getzlaf were overpaid by ~$1m. Pears
I really think we have a great chance at winning in 2015 if the Sedins take a solid discount and with the cap potentially going up that would allow us to sign a big name free agent or two. 3 years @ $5 million a year

SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
Hopefully, Gilman (and Gillis--as in this special case, MG will almost certainly be working with LG on the contract negotiations) will push for the maximum number of years possible. The next contract will very likely be the last one before the Sedins become subject to the 35 and over clause in the CBA. While this clause has been easily circumvented by other teams (see: Pronger, Chris), I wouldn't be surprised to see the NHL adopt a new "Sedin rule" (much like the "Luongo rule") to punish the Canucks if one of the Sedins was on a 35+ contract and had to retire due to injury (and the Canucks attempted to implement Philly's model of using LTIR to negate dead cap space). That's why it's important to grab contract term length now, while they wouldn't be subject to the 35 and over clause. Too much dirty pool from the NHL regarding double standards, especially involving this team. Honestly, all things considered, I'd be fine with signing the twins to the maximum eight years on the next contract for maybe $40-44 million ($5-5.5 million AAV) and letting them play out as many years as they want to in Vancouver before retiring as Canucks and seeing their numbers raised to the rafters. I don't see Hank and Danny continuing to play over here unless they remain highly effective and have important roles on the team (otherwise they'd just retire or head to Modo). There's really very little risk to locking them up now to play as long as they want to play. Might as well try to sign deals that guarantee that they'll be in Vancouver for as many seasons as possible.
aGENT
Perry and Getzlaf got what the market offered. They didn't take a discount to stay in Anaheim, and might have gotten more if a bidding war broke out. I doubt anyone here thinks the Sedins won't be productive over the next 3 years. They've shown no signs of slowing down offensively, and other than Daniel's broken foot and concussion, they've shown no signs of wear. Maybe a better comparable would be Joe Thornton's last contract. Signed in '11 at the age of 32 - 3 years 21 million. This is what I am expecting. Vinny Lecavalier - aged 33 - 5 years with a 4.5 cap hit, but years 1-3 add up to 16.5 or 5.5 per. If Vinny is worth that, the Sedins are worth 6.5 at least
Provost
I believe it will be a contract that starts framing them as 2nd line players as they age. $4-5 million cap hit over a 5 year term. Since they are under 35 we can sign them to any term we want and don't get hit if they retire.

howswedeitis76
I'd like to think they'll play for equivalent or less money for their declining production years. I think they'll easily be worth 5 mill for the next 3 years, 4-4.5 mill for the next 3. If that structure is possible in the current CBA, this is what I'd hope the classiest, least greedy professional athletes in any sport would accept. If they do ask for more, I hope they stipulate that it goes to the Children's hospital, lol. I'd like to see a bonus laden contract if they sign anything beyond that. Can you make bonuses contingent on playoff games won? 4 games played in and won = 1 million $ bonus. 8 playoffs games played in and won - another million. 12 = another mill. Stanley Cup = 2 more mill. Think anyone would balk at paying that money if the parade were coming?

7thMan
The good news is they've never been greedy, before. The bad news is they've publicly stated that they want to finish their careers in Sweden. I don't think they'll be all that motivated to take 2nd line money and play 2nd line minutes.
