iinatcc
I think people tend to forget that it will most likely The Canucks management will be talking to The Sedin's Agent as opposed to the Sedins themselves. Sure management can discuss a thing or two with the Twins but ultimately talks will be with The Agent. And an Agent would always try to get the best possible contract for his/her clients because the Agent also get's a cut from the contract. So let's say if The Sedins are personally ok with $6 Million / Year, you be their Agent will probably try to push that for 6.5 or 7.0 Million. Tangelos
Its crazy seeing people wanting to give them 6m+ per year! They are not the 100 point players they were. Not even close.
kanucks25
Personally, I'd be shocked if they got a raise. They'll be 33 before this season starts. I imagine it'll be a 5~ year extension to take them to 38. Good age for them to decide if they want to stick around for a season (or two) or go back to Sweden and finish off there. Plum
They're not remotely close to washed up and you can not replace their production for less money. Period. It doesn't get any simpler than that.

Pouria
if I were them I would sign a contract like 3.75 mill for 6 years and say "we wont to win the cup with the canucks, we will take an obscene home town discount, whoever wants to win out there...come sign with us, we want you, we have left money on the table so you can come here." the ultimate captain move
Pouria
According to you it is good to sign players that are entering the end of their careers and becoming washed up? You need to stop loving the Sedins and realize how to make our team better for the future.
BedBeats™2.0
5-7 years, cap hit the same as now $6.1 million.
Pouria
3 mill per. They already have about 50 mill each probably but if they want something they don't have......
kanucks25
4 years at 5 mil while we have bums like booth making close to 5 mil. Why do the poor Sedins have to always take a paycut? Just get rid of Booth and pay these guys who have donated money to the community and have given discounts on every signing and re-signing with this team. Pouria
Yeah, poor them. I don't know how they'll be able to survive with $5 million a year instead of 6.

Primal Optimist
I think it will be more like 8 years term to max out the cap hit spreading, and it will start at 7m and work its way down say 7 7 7 6 5 4 3 2: 42 million/8 = 5.25 cap hit. edit: clearly they can 'retire' and go home to sweden whenever. Heck even the 6 year version of this, 777654 is only 6m cap hit, that would do it maybe?
Plaguez
5 years/32.5 million cap of 6.5 8 million first year 8 million 2nd year 6.5 million 3rd year 5 million 4th 5 million 5th
CB007
Their production has gone down and expected to go down over the next few years. How can we give them more cap hit then their last contract?
aGENT
I guess Lidstrom was washed up when he was 33 and was winning the Norris. I didn't know all players become washed up when they hit 30.
