This article is out of whack as well, trying to stir up more than even Lou, check this BS;

Unable to make the trade he wanted, Gillis had shifted to other drastic measures. He fired coach Alain Vigneault and brought in a coach notorious for slagging his own players in the media, John Tortorella. He dealt the goalie widely presumed to be the Canucks’ new No. 1, Cory Schneider, to the New Jersey Devils for the ninth pick in the June draft, which he then used to take a centre, Bo Horvat of the London Knights. He announced that the goaltender of the future Canucks is, once again, Roberto Luongo.""

That was the articles writer, not Lupien whom I quoted. As if firing AV was all about Lou?

The reason he fired his agent is probably because he was the one who gave him the advice to keep turning down potential trades offers (except FLA). The Panthers are one of the lowest cap spending teams and they obviously can't afford the contract, but they might have some interest in Luongo as a FA.

The agent and Luongo thought if they went through with this strategy, the Canucks would be forced to buy him out. He would get paid 2 salaries and sign to a place of his choosing. If the Panthers had any interest in him, they would have wanted this outcome as well.

Holy god and the disciples would you please get your mouth away from Cory's privates and move on. He's playing for another team now, if he's that much of a legend to you then by all means you're more than welcome to cheer on the New Jersey Devils.

Great read, thanks for posting... I must say it angers me that RL has been treated the way he has by the media, GMMG, and worst of all by the fans. He is clearly the best goalie to ever play for the Canucks, yet so many people wanted to see him fail..... Im almost embarrased to be a fan by they way hes been treated.
