vcrguy
I don't know what we did to belong in the AHL division we've been in for the last many years, but we should keep doing it as we're in the easiest of the new divisional formats as well The other side has two more teams than us and we still get the weakest of all the divisions. Only the top 3 are guaranteed to make it, imagine if Detroit was still in our division! We'd have to finish top three of Detroit, San Jose, LA, Anaheim. Now we just have to beat the weaklings of our old conference. I know some people will say its just luck and all the divisions change over time, but we're talking the gravy train for almost a decade! Drouin
Actually, SJ LA Anaheim are all in our division .. I don't understand how that's weak lmao. Combined 1 win in 10 games vs. SJ/LA in the playoffs last 2 years. As for Anaheim? They're very underrated, remember when they beat us 7-3 in the first game of the season? Don't underestimate Edmonton either, they could breakout this season. IMO only weak team is Calgary, Phoenix isn't that bad. Weakest division is arguable between Atlantic and Central. But both are pretty damn good. I'd have to say Atlantic. Hard to say though cause the West has two less teams, 7 in each division whereas East has 8. Drakrami
I have seen so many people say our division is hard, which I have no idea why... I agree we are in the easiest division. Teams I'd consider good or ok from each division based on their regular season performance. A (our div): kings (ok), sharks (ok) B: blackhawks (good), wild (ok), blues (ok) C: bruins (good), redwings (good) D: penguins (good), rangers (ok), flyers (ok) So no matter how you look at it, we are in the easiest division. Drouin
Not to hate on your argument or anything because I agree people underrate Anaheim, but remember the 3rd or 4th game of the year when we went to Anaheim and won 5-0?

TheMohammadman
San Jose is really only good on the powerplay, it's not rocket science to understand this. How many even strength goals did they score against us and LA in the playoffs? IMO LA and Edmonton, maybe Anaheim as well, will be our only divisional concerns and Chicago, St. Louis, Colorado, and Winnipeg will give us problems as far as the West goes. We're really in better shape than most make us out to be.

Papayas
Whether we are in the easiest division or not would depend in how the other team play next season, but it's definitely harder than our division last season ...
Drouin
That's just last year alone, Anaheim has been doing horrible in previous years. SJS has been consistently good in the regular season for the past few years.
Hunter.S-Kerouac
Certainly looks easier than division B. Exciting teams to play against, Travel wise too looks like road tripping for Canucks fans will be good.

Dogbyte
I think the Central is the weakest and the Boston, Det, Ott, Habs, division is the strongest, followed by the Ptt, NYR, Philly, Was, division. We are in the second easiest.
TimberWolf
It's funny that this suddenly became an issue. When Detroit was in the easiest, nobody cared. When Edmonton had doormats to play with, it wasn't reported but when Vancouver might have a few gimme games they need an Astrix next to their division/conference/presidents trophy....
