LeanBeef Posted July 26, 2013 Share Posted July 26, 2013 NEW PENALTY NHL executive vice president and director of hockey operations Colin Campbell says GMs also agree to implement a two-minute penalty for fighters who remove their helmets before a fight. So it would be a five-minute penalty for fighting, plus two more minutes for the helmet violation. The new penalty is pending Board of Governors approval. I guess Campbell is sick of seeing his son get beaten up by non fighters. Personally, I think it's a stupid penalty. Sure, it's dangerous when you slam a guy down to the ice with his helmet off but a lot of the time their helmets go flying in the middle of the fight. This is also an extremely stupid rule when you think about players fighting with visors. Hands will be cut, knuckles will be broken, faces will be easier to cut, etc... Your thoughts? North American Elite League (NAEL) The best players in the NHL spread out in 16 teams North American Standard League (NASL) The rest of the players not good enough for the elite league play in this league. The Stanley Cup is taken and awarded to both teams that win the cup out of their league with the team that won in less games getting the cup first. Most players leave their helmets on anyway and the first thing a lot of guys do is go to rip the others helmet off. Most guys who have visors fight like sh*t anyway. Looks like the only way to circumvent this is if you take off other player's helmet and he takes yours off before you drop the gloves. Don't laugh ... OK ... you can laugh now.
