Hobble
May be a little steep, but in a few years with the cap going up, it will be a bargain. Wheeler is on an upward trend, and the LLW line was the 5th best top line in the NHL last season. Would definitely take him at 5+ mil than Bozak or Clarkson. theminister
It's an overpayment but one the Jets can afford. This organization will be smart to keep players in the fold and bring in younger/cheaper talent. I like Wheeler but it is too much for him currently. However, with their recent signings they are moving in the right direction with money to spare.
olsenation15
watched wheeler play all home games at MTS last year. Big goals, good skater, comes off the wing as good as anyone...and OUR JETS had to pay to keep him. Players love to go to bigger markets, so this was crucial. jets looking like a decent team on paper. Lots of grit, defence has 3 invitees to team USA camp...Wheeler could be a future 40 goal scorer consistently. Schiefele coming in, trouba, ladd,pavelec...jets are gonna be very tough to play against, esp. at home. FINALLY Wheels is signed. wheeeewww

22Sedinery33
Good signing for the Jets, he is a valuable asset for the team and a major contributor for them. Will be a crucial part if the Jets want to make the playoffs.
da.moose
This is what top line players in the NHL make now. Wheeler is unreal, glad to have him locked up for 6 years from ages 26-32. Next up Bogosian. long term 5.25 maybe?
olsenation15
Trouba. You will love Trouba. And I actually think Lowry is going to be a fan favourite in a couple of years. Don't listen to the haters. Things are going right out there. Slowly, sure, but happening.

Caboose
Well if Grabovski can get 5.5 mil, I think Wheeler deserves it too. And the inflation continues...
Kyosama
Grabovski was Toronto's strongest two way forward and that contract was not nearly as bad as its made out to be.
Pavel_Bure 10
Great Player. Maybe a little bit more than expected, but he is definitely worth the money. Good signing for the jets.
