Edler's cap hit is a steal 3. Just as we over rate players we gang up on them alot in Vancouver. Lou, Edler even Booth taken a beating. 4. I really don't want to see Edler moved unless we get a player of Galchenyuk calibre back, we already gave away our best young player in schnieder, we don't need to do it with our 2nd best. The names being thrown around have no connection or practicality, it really makes you wonder about the hockey knowledge of some of the fans on the site... Angry Goose Posted July 28, 2013 Share Posted July 28, 2013 The only reason I can see MTL wanting edler is because after this season they lose many players to free agency (e.g Markov,) and Subban is again a RFA. Supposing MTL has pay structure in mind and Subban demands big $$$, the situation with their top 4 could be a nightmare. Picking up Edler now would give their D stability long term. And Edler is a big strong D man they could use for sure (but so do the Canucks don't they?). Canucks would have to demand someone like Gallagher back. Edler for Gallagher and a pick?
