Guest Pinchin
Can't wait until this guy is not a Canuck anymore.. He's NEVER played even close to his potential.. Trade him for someone who actually cares

Avicii
I'm disliking Edler's play for the past few seasons just as much as the next guy.. But if we win a cup, it will be largely because of Edler.
Industrious1
I'm fine with this decision. I actually thought it could have been worse.

CanuckRow
Never played to his potential as a 3rd round pick? Or never played to the unrealistic expectations of some Canucks "fans"? I don't even understand why so many want him out of here, yes he had a poor season, but he's still a big dman that can hit hard and has a very hard shot. He just needs to tighten up defensively and he's easily one of the top defensemen in the game. He's 27 now and is hitting his prime years soon. CookieCrumbs
This doesn't make sense to me. So they can just tack on an extra two games out of the blue? In a completely unrelated tournament? Seems a bit ridiculous.
CB007
Should've never been suspended anyways. Staal was hurt because he pivoted his right leg last moment from his backhander before his collision with Edler. People say Edler never strayed from his course so he deserves the suspension is non-sense. He had no reason to. SamJamIam
Torres served out his playoffs suspension into the next season. Makes sense that Edler hadn't served his full term yet. We all knew it might happen. It's just too bad Eric Staal flying into Edler's knee and Edler being a rock means a suspension for him. As soon as someone gets injured, any inkling that he was the one who was being a dumbass goes straight out the window. Hockey players need to get back to keeping their heads up. shinkaruk98
Edler could have gotten worse, but let's be happy for the games he will play. He can still contribute to their team.

Butters Stoch
If Sweden does well in the first 2 games, there's a good chance that Edler might not even get slotted into the lineup until they start slumping. Swe has a good group of defencemen even without Edler and in such small number of games, he might not even get to play at all.
aqua59
@News1130Sports Alex Edler's agent Mark Stowe tells News1130 from Sweden that it looks like Edler will get 2 more games for injuring Eric Staal.
uber_pwnzor
Haha, there was so much anger on Team Sweden's Facebook page when the suspension was announced. Everyone was like "that was a clean hit!" "It was Staal's fault," "this wouldn't have happened if Edler was Canadian!" <
