Canucks_fo_life
Horvat, will be a bigger impact player in the NHL and will be a better all around player as well, we'll forget about Cory Schneider when Bo is NHL ready

westcoast
With Schnieder going the other way Gillis only option was the perceived sure thing.Had it been a Canucks pick back to back I think he would have considered a roll of the dice on a upside type pick. greetingsfrombrazil
At first when I saw the trade, I was all Nichushkin. Now after seeing Horvat play, I'm not really sure. Both are going to be really good.

Niloc009
The problem with taking Nichuskin with the 9th is that the Cory Schneider pick needed to be a can't miss prospect. The Russian is a boom-or-bust player, with a high ceiling but might have flopped in NA. Horvat is a safe pick, that will be near guaranteed to be a top6 NHL centre. If Gillis had picked a bust with the pick from the CS trade, he'd be vilified for life in this town.

Absent Canuck
I think Horvat is going to be as good as Kesler is.
Drouin
Of course if we accepted Edmonton's offer we could have still had Horvat, another prospect, and a roster player.

RustyShackleford
At the draft when the canucks were making this selection I thought it was going to be Nichuskin until they announced from the OHL London Knights. then I thought it was going to be either Domi or Zadorov. anyone else thought that as well. Derp...
i dono if Nichuskin can lift the puck yet. Only ever seen him score goals along the ice. Too many great goalies down low in the NHL for him to succeed. Bo Horvat, now there's a guy who can lift the puck even on one tiemrs in close ala Domi to Horvat in Mem cup. Just watch his backhand saucer to shinkaruk in tthe prospect camp and you will see exactly why he's a better pick. Goals in the NHL are scored on odd man rushes, odd bounces, and great passes. Very few goals are scored on individual efforts ala Datsyuk. Nichuskin can take the puck to the net, but so can David Booth, and look how many goals he scored for us... Just saying (love booths game though, just not easy to score in 1 on 1's. BOHO
