HC20.0
And that could be Jumbo Joe's ticket out of town.
Jester13
6 million cap hit? I know he's a good playoff performer, but that seems like a lot to me.
Lonny_Bohonos_14
The San Jose Sharks signed centre Joe Pavelski to a five-year, $30 million contract extension on Tuesday. Pavelski has one year remaining on his current deal at $4 million. Last season, the 29-year-old finished with 16 goals and 15 assists for 31 points in 48 games for the Sharks. "Joe has been an important part of our success over the last several years and we are excited to have him with our club for the next six seasons," said Sharks general manager Doug Wilson. Pavelski has recorded 336 points in 479 career NHL games with San Jose. The Wisconsin native was originally selected by San Jose in the seventh round (205th overall) of the 2003 NHL Draft. Master Mind
6M a year is overpayment for Pavelski imo. He'll be making the same amount as Couture. And Couture > Pavelski.
TheRussianRocket.
Surprised they never gave him $8 mill...
Xbox
Wow, I had no idea Pavelski was 29 years old. I thought he was around 25. I thought it was a great signing originally because I believed Pavelski was entering his prime and the team got some of his UFA years. At 29 years old, this is an overpayment. That's a stupid contract for the Sharks, but great for me because I hate that team.
AFrame14
Overpayment.. Couture is worth 6 mil per,, pavelski is 4.5-5.. Def like kesler's deal more!
D.Doughty
Overpayment. Pavelski is a solid 2nd liner, good PK player but does not put up much points. I would have given him 5.4-5.7 mil
Danthecanucksfan
I wouldve expected slomething like 5.6M for the same term, but IMO hes worth it and is underrated
RyanKeslord17
So is Thornton gone? I mean, they have Couture, Pavelski as their 1 and 2 C... Can't really put a player making $6M on the 3rd line
UFCanuck
Their window is closing quickly.
apollo
Can't wait till we rough him up this year. I hate the sharks!
JS40
Overpayment. Pavelski is a solid 2nd liner, good PK player but does not put up much points. I would have given him 5.4-5.7 mil
D-Money
Higher than expected, but he`s still probably worth it. Pavelski is like a mini-Kesler, only he can play wing, knows how to pass, and rarely misses a game.
Boudrias
Overpayment at $6 Mil so what will it look like in years 4 & 5? WOw? If Van had any offence last spring I don't think the Sharks beat them. He did have a decent playoff.
Lonny_Bohonos_14
For this years market, I would have said 5.5 would be fair. So it's a bit of an overpayment.
Pears
A tad of an overpayment but Pavelski will be worth it. My favourite Shark behind Marleau.
Apples
5mil is pretty fair. Sharks will probably lose Thornton or Marleau next year, so pavelski will get more ice time
Drouin
Once Thornton retires he'll be the 2C behind Couture. Decent money since he's good defensively as well. But is he worth more than the Kesler, or even the Sedin's?
