Everybody Hates Raymond
mitch levy @kjrmitch 14m The short of it is: I'm hearing that the NHL Commish is encouraging the board of governors to make an expansion team available to Seattle. mitch levy @kjrmitch 13m If approved, the new expansion Seattle NHL club would cost approximately $275M. It would begin playing here in the 2014-2015 season. mitch levy @kjrmitch 11m All of this contingent upon 1) a solid ownership coming forward and buying the team and 2) the new arena staying on track to be built mitch levy @kjrmitch 10m The ownership group that was interested in buying the Phoenix franchise remains in play here, amongst others. canucklax
He's a radio sports guy around here. I don't remember him being too in touch about the phx situation, that was chris daniels but positive news nonetheless. If the NHL is going to expand to Seattle, it needs to be before the NBA does to gain some traction with sponsors and fans

Rick Grimes
Seattle is closer to me than Vancouver is....So..... I'm hoping its true.

logic
I still think Houston or Atlanta would be a better venue if the league expands or moves a franchise...

CanuckRow
31 teams makes for terrible scheduling and playoff seeding issues. If Seattle gets a team, QC will as well to get an even 32 teams
Keslerific
Getting to see an expansion draft would be cool. I didn't see the last one.

Darkstar
The two expansion teams have to be in the west, unless if they are going to switch the teams in the divisions around. Seattle for the Pacific and either Vegas, Kansas City or Houston for the Central is what's going to happen. The only way that QC gets a team is through either relocation or if Detroit moves back to the Central. I always wondered why Saskatchewan was never considered in terms of having a hockey club. They have a pretty sizable population and the best CFL fans (not sure if it would translate over to the NHL).
Absent Canuck
This is great news!!! I wonder if they will call them the Totems, or the Metropolitans
canucklax
Sorry, not happening... Seattle was one Glendale city council vote away from a team. (I don't know the details but the Coyotes are staying for at least a few more years.) Anyways, 32 teams is an even number.
canucks#01fan
The NHL will expand to 32 teams eventually so there will be 8 teams in each division. Im hoping they will both be western teams to narrow the team locations gap.
Nuxfanabroad
2 teams like Seattle, + Vegas, KC(whatever?). Straight expansion. Then move 2 Flor teams to Que & Ont(massive relocation and/or territorial fees); because Cdn towns will always pay through the nose, happily. Now owners got their 50% CBA, they should try to phase out the sunbelt, & increase revenues in Canada.
