Ilya Mikheyev
His value must be low if some of these rumours are true... Liles on the 3rd pairing with a calm, collected, defense-first Tanev? Liles 2nd PP unit PP QB. Then sign a bigger, physical defenseman to play the 7th role a la Andrew Alberts, Mark Fistric, Rob Davison circa 2009 mold. DO IT GMMG. Hamhuis - Bieksa Edler - Garrison Liles - Tanev Fistric, Weber
DollarAndADream
If they do buy him out, Liles should be a very sought after defenseman. He's underrated. He's a fast skater and a great puck-moving D.
canucks#01fan
Doubt liles will be bought out, they can probably trade him, still a good dman

Nuxfanabroad
If the cap doesn't rise significantly for subsequent seasons, gm's will be spending their summer months workin in the garden. They must have a plan to tap into new revenue streams. Only way to explain another summer of shopping sprees.
hudson bay rules
I have a feeling the Canucks are gonna save the last compliance buyout for Lui if things go sideways this coming season. I don't think it will happen, just a bit of insurance I guess
bigpush
I can't see us using a compliance buyout with Booth ( only one year left after this one) makes much more sense for Lou (or another big long term contract).
D-Money
Liles is still a good D-man, and his contract isn't even that bad. Surprised that no one will take him. Of course, perhaps he isn't willing to waive his NTC to go to one of the teams that may be interested. But it wouldn't shock me if someone took him off waivers. sabatoge95
Hamhuis - Edler Garrison - Bieksa Liles - Tanev Yes please. Liles is like a Ehrhoff-lite type player.
Brocklovich
^ I mean you would have to think it would be up to Liles at that point, he could get a bridge contract from Vancouver with a chance to earn a bigger / long term deal in the next off season (if Cap goes up by a bit) while still being on a pretty good team. He would also still be getting a decent amount of $ from the Leaf buyout so he could do a 1 - 1.5m deal and still bank 3ish million for the year. qwijibo
no compliance buyout - that window is closed and the Leafs used both theirs - but that doesn't necessarily mean no buyout for Liles.
