Plum
They might need to trade someone else to re-sign Paajarvi. Bouwmeester has AAV of 5.4 million after next season.

Warhippy
That's really not a whole lot though if you think about it as they've guys due next season as well and don't tend to score a ton of goals. Never been a fan of Bouwmeesters contracts. He is just always overpaid for what he brings which is nothing more than smooth skating and endurance (ironman streak)

Tangelos
solid deal. Bouwmeester is still one of the best skating d-men in the league.

Keslerific
Am I the only one mad at him just for having a longer streak than Henrik? When you're elite like Henrik and taking abuse all the time with a target on your back you have a way more impressive iron-man streak in my books. Keslerific
Not to mention that if playoff games counted towards the streak, Henrik would have a higher streak than J-Bo, and playoff games are much more physical to boot.
Baka
Bouwmeester-Pietrangelo will be one of the best pairings next season They have $8.8 million like TheEhrhoffEffect pointed out. $7 million for Pietrangelo + $1.2 million for Paajarvi = $8.2 million - $8.8 million = $300K of remaining cap space. St. Louis will be fine.
Danthecanucksfan
Hes a bit overpayed, he shouldve got $5.0M/yr. Give Pietrangelo $6.750M for 8 years. Give Paajarvi a 1 or 2 year deal worth 1-1.3M
TOMapleLaughs
Not sure if Pietr's in the long-term plans for them. Should be, but the trade and this extension are strange. Good for J-Bo in getting this deal.
