LeanBeef
"I won a Stanley Cup with the Penguins, I've won individual awards. I get a lot of ice time. I have an excellent relationship with my teammates and coaches. Why would I look for something else when I have everything?" This is basically the opposite of what Grabovski would say. Me_
Difference is that Malkin has won the Cup while Kovalchuk hasn't. So Malkin knows and Kovalchuk doesn't.
Edler's Mind Tricks
The preview on the first page was "Malkin plans on". I thought he was going to leave and I was like "Crap. It begins." I'm glad he is staying.
Remy
I knew he'd stay cause he just signed. Do you think Kovalchuk would've stayed if his team was better?
ChuckNORRIS4Cup
what if the penguins start to suck like the Devils. I think Kovy bailed cause he knew the Devils were on a downwards spiral and wanted no part of it lol
Drouin
Right, and how far into his contract was Kovalchuk?
JeremyCuddles
I don't know man. I heard they had one of the deepest defensive prospect pools. (Pouliot, Despres, Maata, Harrington, Dumoulin) Not to mention that Letang is only 27 and Niskanen is only 26. No secondary scoring? I would consider Benn, Kunitz, Bennett, Sutter, Dupuis adequate secondary scorers. And if you think Fleury is gonna be a bum, get real
D.Doughty
I think he was saying if say Crosby was on Calgary they'd still suck. Like Columbus when all they had was Nash. Hell Tampa has two superstars and they suck. He was just saying having a superstar doesn't make your team good.
JeremyCuddles
You cannot compare Crosby to stars like Nash+Stamkos etc Yes, those are elite players in which a team builds around but Crosby is on a whole other tier. He can single handedly win games. He is in the ranks of Gordie Howe, Gretzky, etc.
CanuckinEdm
This is reportable....
D.Doughty
I wouldn't stick him in the realm of Gretzky just yet...injuries have kind of slown his career. He obviously wasn't good enough to pull his team in the playoffs and he has one of the deepest teams in the league...
sabatoge95
Ovi isn't a d-zone guy... he is always looking to get launched on an odd man rush out of the zone with speed. He does look lazy in his own end. That is just my opinion from watching him play. I think that is why they have had failures in playoffs. Semin and Green kind of play that way too. Opportunistic offensive minded players. I remember when the Habs upset them when they had won the Presidents Trophy, classic.
