Heritage Classic Tickets Pricier Than Expected

No offense, but despite the atmosphere a classic brings, I think it's pretty stupid how the fans at the game see the actual game. The rink is it's usual size, but there's a fairly lengthy area around the perimeter of the rink which is empty space (for cables, wires, advertizents, etc...) and then the seats for fans - a good 50 feet away at least from the action.

...people at the games barely get to see the action cause it's so far away and not taking anything away from the classic, but this is a major flaw I see which really sucks...I'm planning on attending this classic against the Sens but just wanted to voice this out - anyone agree/disagree or have their take on this subject?

Tickets start at $93? WTF?

What a ridiculous gimmick to try and gouge loyal fans. I thought that's who this was supposed to be for after all. You know, a nice reward for all the BS that fans put up with through the lockout?

What was it that De Bonis said about this event? That it wasn't about making money for the Canucks? Hah! I think the hair gel must be seeping into that guys brain.

There's NO question now that this coupled with the 314 "outdoor" games the league is holding this year is simply trying to recoup losses from the lockout. Honestly, 50k or more fans is easily doable in BC Place....but at $93 to start in the upper upper nosebleeds I expect a lot of empty seats. I for one cannot justify over $400 in costs for my family to go and basically watch this on the jumbotron when we could sit at home and watch it for the price of a pizza on a tv without some uptight clown asking us to be quiet and not cheer for our team so loudly. Screw this high priced game, screw Bettman and without question screw where this game is heading with its elitist mentality. We pulled my nephew because total cost for equipment, fees travel and camps was almost $8,000 for the year. And he's good.....$93 to see this, I am ever so pissed as my daughter was hoping to see this since the original was so fun. Gonna break it to her now, and enjoy watching a full week of games with the young stars tournament next month for less than the cost of 1 nosebleed seat in an "outdoor stadium"

Given it is listed as a NHL ran event, it isn't a huge surprise that the tickets are starting at $93. Even with De Bonis mentioning that it isn't about the Canucks making money off the event, you have the wonder how much that is true. We'll see how the event sells closer to the day of and maybe it'll be worth it in the end to experience it.
