@markhmasters: Lines at summer dev camp (Group 1): Horvat-Monahan-Lazar; Shinkaruk-Laughton-Hudon; Leipsic-Petan-Poirier; Rupert-Jankowski

Nice to see Horvat on the top line and Shinkaruk on the 2nd! Gaunce is on team Red so their lines are unknown right now.

Not to pick it apart, but awesome to see Shinkaruk and Horvat given a chance to showcase their versatility by playing wing instead of natural center. Shinkaruk does it regularly Horvat has before but not to the same degree. That is two very awesome looking groups

The good thing is Gaunce can also play left wing if need be.

I think the coaches know what Gaunce can bring. He was a great captain and clutch player for Belleville in their run last season, and was named the best defensive forward in the OHL Eastern Conference.

Practice lines mean nothing right now. I'm sure they'll change quite a bit over the next week. Guys like Laughton, Drouin, and Mackinnon will also likely be in the NHL next season and might not be available.

Either way, still lots of time for Gaunce to prove himself.

I was in Brossard today and I attended the practice. I posted in the Junior forum but I`ll add some notes here. Shinkaruk was out there to impress, of that there is no question. IMO, he was arguably the best player in the first session. Watched Horvat in person for the first time today and I was impressed. Calm, positionally he is always where he`s supposed to be, great hockey sense and he is much faster than advertised. Gaunce, sorry to say guys, didn`t impress at all. He was in session two, and he was the only skater in blue and stood out as a result. As much as Shinkaruk looked like a guy who wanted to make the most of his chance, Gaunce looked the complete opposite out there. He was left with his head in the air out of frustration on more than one occasion and Sutter spoke to him more than once one-on-one, not so sure that`s a good thing? I can give you guys the line break-downs if you want, but as others have mentioned, at this point in the process I think they`re meaningless. So much will depend on who does/doesn`t get released from their NHL teams that any prédictions are a complete shot in the dark.
