The Dark Knight
Have any of you guys seen the draft day videos on the Sabres and Philly sites on how their organization approach the draft? Canucks need to do one of these, I hope they had Cameras rolling because the draft this year was exciting as hell for nucks fans. http://sabres.nhl.com/?navid=nav-teamnav-buf Find the video on home page called NHL Draft Blue and Gold. http://flyers.nhl.com/ Find the video called flight plan. I would absolutely love it if the Canucks did something like these two teams, the fans could get an idea of what the team goes through and how their philosophy works. It's strange how all these Canadian teams with passionate fan bases don't do things like this more often. Fans would obviously soak it all up! We're crazy about draft day! Grapefruits
If this team really wanted to reward its fans, they would lower ticket prices and/or win the Stanley Cup.
King Heffy
This is how Gillis prepared for trade negotiations with New Jersey.
Keslerific
The Sabres one was pretty cool.
viking mama
Agreed. Altho' this draft - with the Luongo/Schneider flip-flop fiasco happenin'....I bet Gillis & the Aquilinis knew fool well that they didn't want any cameras around. Some of the more embarassing & editted stuff could have been leaked.
22sedins33
As far as access goes, we as Canucks fans have things pretty good. As has already been mentioned, the Schneider trade likely had an influence on how much they wanted the public to see. I would bet we see the entire league get closer to what these two teams did (except New Jersey because Lou is a terrifyingly secretive person) within the next few years. etsen3
Negative Ned is in the thread.. Yes lets criticize a person who is in the NHL for a reason(Gillis), and pretend like we know any better.. "But the TSN report said Edmonton was going to give up a decent prospect and their first!! WAAAAHHH!!"
mpt
So just because they're in the NHL it means they're never wrong? I bet a lot of NHL GM's would have taken the Edmonton offer in a heartbeat.
uber_pwnzor
It was likely Paarjavi and he isn't really an upgrade over the crap we already had

TOMapleLaughs
The rumour was the Gillis shopped Schneids to Edmonton, although i don't believe that either. There was never an offer from Edmonton to consider. -Schneider for Horvat is fair, considering the Canucks couldn't take on any cap hit in any deal. Could've gotten a 2nd or a prospect as well i guess.
