How the hell so many people think Kassian can play on th first line with the sedins? Is this how low the canucks fan base has sink?

From what we see so far, Kassian had done nothing to be promote to the first line especially when we have a player like burrows on the team. Inserting Kassian with the sedins won't magically turn him into a 30 goal scorer. He has to show he can handle first line min next season first.

The funny thing is the names of the people who actually think Kassian will be on the first line with the sedins next season. From their track record, they will chew up Kassian when he fails to perform to their unrealistic expectation next season.

Burrows because they have very good chemistry together If Raymond re-signed with the Canucks I would've given him a chance to play with the Sedins In NHL 12 Raymond had great chemistry with the Sedins but to go in the good side I would stick with Burrows with the Sedins

kassian gets knocked off the puck by guys 1/3rd his size all last year along the boards and hes not quick or smart enough to help out in the sedin cycle... infact he doesnt help in the cycle sedins turn it into a 2 man cycle and he just stands in front... sedins only get goals when they play with burrows, kassian never set them up because if the puck is on his stick longer than 2 seconds he loses it.... here is another thing we should go own ...sedins have said time and time again they are the most comfortable and have the most chemistry with burrows so why take that away from our best players...... kassian had next to 0 time with kesler on the second line last year so who is to say he wouldnt work on the second?? by the time kesler came back last year kassian had already played himself into the 3rd 4th and pressbox role.... when kassian played with booth they were very good together and had great rushes .... so i dont see why booth kesler kassian wouldnt be a great option...

Realistically, it'll probably be something like this:

Kassian for 30 games

Burrows for 20 games

Hansen for 10 games

Kesler for 10 games (Torts will try this if we have young guys like Gaunce/Schroeder/Lain ready to step in)

Booth for 10 games

Everyone will go through inconsistent and hot stretches of play, and Torts is famous for juggling his lines. He gives hard workers a good opportunity, and that's why Hansen/Booth (maybe even Higgins) will all get a turn on the top line.

There are some good cases made for Burrows elevating the second line and Kassian providing a physical force to play with the Sedins, but there are some things about Burrows that make him an elite linemate, and virtually ideal in many respects, for the Sedins, not least of which is his outstanding two-way play, which takes some significant defensive load off of Henrik, and additionally, heis a relentless puck hound and cycles with tremendous efficiency. Burrows reads the Sedins almost as well as a triplet, he goes to the front of the net and finishes with consistency - if he were 20lbs heavier and could beat the crap out of people you couldn't have cloned a better linemate for them, but all in all, I think Burrows contribution to that line is far too underplayed - he is as vital, imo, to the twins success as they are to his. His production when not playing with the Sedins is a testimony to his versatility, and a good argument for playing him elsewhere, but as much as I like Kassian and think he's a better young all around player than he gets credit for at this point, it's hard to see anyone fitting as well with the Sedins as Burrows does.

If Zack takes another significant step and can model his play somewhat on what Burrows provides that line, it could bode very well - and a second line of Booth, Kesler, Burrows would certainly be a nightmare to play against.

The same tactic will NOT work today. Some people doesn't seem to understand this and keep thinking if they give the Sedins a guy like Anson, in this case Kassian, he will magically score 30 goals for just sitting in front of the net and wait for the Sedins to fit him.
