[Signing] Avs sign Landeskog to seven year deal

Thats almost Sedin money, and more than Kesler. He could be better than Kesler one day, but he would have to top 41 goals to be better than Kes in my eyes. Basically the same player (hit, score, pk, pp, Selke type player), Landy has more potential, but if he turns out to be less of a player than Kesler than bad contract. High risk high reward as mentioned above.

Bettman instead of pushing for 6-7-8 maximum contract lenght, should have push for limited lenght on young player's 2nd contract.

After the original ELC, young player should be limited to a 3-4 years contract to prove their worth before signing life long contracts.

Proof was made that 10-12-15 years contract lenght blew up in pretty much every team's face. Luongo, Kovalchuk, Dipietro, Lecavalier, and maybe in a few years even Ovechkin. The only exception was Marian Hossa who signed a 10 years 40M deal with the Hawks.

shoulda signed him to a bridge contract that takes him to 1-2 year left on his rfa status then sign him to a bigger 7yr contract. if he continues to develop now it's a good contract.. but if he takes a step back because of the concussion this could end up a terrible contract.

Subban signed a bridge and then won the Norris trophy, he can't be happy about that.

Landeskog could very well win the Selke this year, but will also be compensated like the caliber of player he is.
