[Rumour] Capitals shopping Marcus Johansson

Recommended Posts

Edler is worth more than Johansson, but not Johansson plus Alzner. Schroeder ain't worth much at this juncture. Be great, but wishful thinking?

How about a blockbuster? We'll take on a bad contract to move Booth part and parcel.

Edler, Tanev plus Booth for Johansson and Green?

Aprox $10.5 salary going each way. They still have Carlson as a puck moving right D, replace Green in the line up with Tanev and pickup Edler. We dont miss Edler with Garrison and Hamhuis on the left, but look far more serious (and we can move the puck) with Green, Bieksa and Corrado on the right. Jensen takes Booths spot...

Danny/Hank/Kassian

Burrows/Kesler/Johansson

Higgins/Gaunce/Hansen

Sestito/Richardson/Santorelli

Garrison/Green

Hamhuis/Bieksa

Kuba/Corrado Kuba UFA deal $1.3

Hey, what up mate? We put snags and shrimp on the barbie, not Bratwurst! :emot-parrot:

People are really under estimating Johansson. He put up 46 points as a 21 year old. That puts him 3 points behind kelser and 6th on the team, He was on pace to put up 50+ in an 82 game season without injuries as a 22 year old. I wont be surprised if he puts up 60+ this year. This guy is playing first line in WSH and people are saying he's be a good 3rd line center here. Why would he sign the same or less money to play in a lesser role. Beside, last report I watched on this situation is the capitals have no intention of trading him and have stated the if any team throws an offer sheet at him they'd be willing match anything.

And unfortunately Tanev (a 5-6th defensemen with limited offensive ability) and Schroeder (An even smaller forward who is the same age as Johansson and less the 50 NHL games experience) doesn’t equal value of a highly gifted 22 year old who's already putting up 50 points a season.
