-Vintage Canuck-
He wound up signing in St. Louis instead: When Maxim Lapierre hit free agency this summer, he had his heart set on one particular destination and it wasn’t St. Louis. TVASports.com spoke with Lapierre (link in French) and finds out he did all he could to entice his old team, the Montreal Canadiens, into signing him. Here’s a poorly translated quote from the story. “I did everything I could to get back with the Canadiens, but I did not figured in their plans,” he told the media at Hockey School Latendresse-Lapierre. Lapierre spent the first five and a half seasons with Montreal before being traded to Anaheim on New Year’s Eve in 2010. He wound up signing a two-year deal with the Blues instead of landing back with the Habs this summer. For a guy who doesn’t exactly have a great reputation you kind of feel bad for him that he couldn’t return home. We’ll likely forget all of that when he suits up for the Blues and finds new ways to terrorize the Central Division. http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2013/08/17/maxim-lapierre-virtually-begged-to-sign-in-montreal/
Raffi Torres's Smirk
Im gunna miss him, I liked Lapierre a lot. I'm not sure "did everything I could" is "begging" necessarily, that puts him in a bad light.

Magikal
I still think Torts could've brought out the best in Lappy. Oh well.

-DLC-
Was one of my favs...wish him the best of luck. He had a lot of jump and enthusiasm...I find that guys who play for the love of playing and enjoy themselves out there are sometimes the hardest workers. It's not a job to them, it's a passion. My lasting memory of Lappy will be the Chicago (home) game right before the playoffs...he hit everything that moved and we looked awesome in that game. We need guys like that, who give it their all...it tends to spill over to the team. He will be missed...

kanucks25
Lapierre was the guy who made our 4th line worth putting on the ice. Now look at it... we might as well roll 3 lines all year
Pears
Prust - Lapierre - Moen/White/Parros would've been a great line to watch in the playoffs.

DownUndaCanuck
Roy > Richardson Lapierre > Santorelli St. Louis basically strips us of our center depth and leaves us with pylons. MG better pray Lain/Horvat/Gaunce can step in and play better than Lapierre did.
Ilya Mikheyev
Brad Richardson better make me forget how stupid letting go of Lapierre was.
kanucks1
Lapierre was perfect and Torts would have brought out the best in Lappy. Sedins-Kassian Booth-Kesler-Burrows Higgins-Schroeder-Hansen Weise-Lappy-Richardsson Loved Lappy
