Monty
Trust me Vancouver fans, if Gillis was kicking tires on both Murray and Hainsey, you'd much prefer Hainsey. Especially at the price Hainsey is rumoured to go for. The only reason I didn't like him in Winnipeg was because he was overpaid by about $4M. D.Doughty
1.5 mil/season is not bad. Is Murray > Tanev? Physically, yes Offensive ability? both have none Skating, no. Thus, we can come to a conclusion that Murray would have been the better option as we were missing physicality and Tanev does not bring that. oldnews
Good. Nice to see him in another team's uniform - and the Habs were looking for a bit more bulk on their blueline - not convinced he'll help them much... There are three or four guys out there still that I'd rather have than Murray.
Coconuts
He's a pretty good fit for Montreal, and at the price I wouldn't have minded picking him up as well. Oh well, the best of luck to him.

Rypien37
Good for Montreal. Parros, Prust, Moen, White, Tinordi and Murray. They are officially tougher then us.....

Dion Phaneuf
He's basically a replacement for Emelin (injured). Not a bad signing, he brings size to the Montreal Midgets.
LeanBeef
You forgot two players who don't have size, but are vert gritty. Gallagher and Emelin.

The only regular on the Penguins with worse underlying numbers was Sutter - a young center who faced far stronger competition and had only 31.8% offensive zone starts. I like the Habs - so I'm not thrilled with the signing - the consolation is that it wasn't Vancouver.

Shinkaruk_9
Other than Markov(who's 34 and thats considered the downswing in a career) and Subban they have no big name D-men. We have Edler,Hammer,Bieksa,Garrison. Edler>Markov(Mainly because of injuries and age) Hamhuis<<<<Subban Bieksa>>Georges Garrison>>Emilen
