MALICIOUS fraudulent "attack" online

I was on a LEGAL ADULT site, and was essentially black mailed(I guess you could say), had a page come up on my screen I could not get rid of, even after multiple restarts, it came with a heading(banner): "Canadian Chief Of Police" With a handful of Police(RCMP) insignia/badges below, and then "Ministry Of Public Safety Canada" below thatI It showed my IP iand PC info.

Then said "your computer has been blocked up for safety reasons listed below" Which the thing prioceeded to say "you are accused of viewing/storage and/or dissemination of banned pronography(chld pronography/zooplhillia/rape, etc. After that it said "Also, you are suspected of violation of "Copyright and Related rights law"(downloading of pirated music, video, warez) and or dissimination of copyrighted content" anyway they said I could either pay a fine of like 150-500 bucks VIA pay pal or this other crap, "or face 3-7 years".. funny, a ways below that(past a bunch of dumb crap) it said "amount of fine is CAD $100", at the bottom of the page it says "as soon as the money arrives in the treasury account your computer will be unblocked in course of 24 hours" , and if I don't within 7 days, a criminal case will be opened up! Hahah wow.....

How stupid do they think people are? I wasn't and haven't been doing anything wrong, and if I were, the proper authorities wouldn't be going about it in that manner! There was no contact numbers, address, or anything! None the less, this is ABSOLUTELY SICKENING. very, very sickening that people do THIS to try and take other's money!! I wish I had a USB cable for my phone, then I'd post the pics I took. I was able to repair my computer so that thing would stop coming up!

PS. I have a large video game, and movie library, I don't pirate anything. Anyone else get anything like this? hahah oh and at the bottom it says "INTERPOL" repeated all along the bottom!

1. Don't click anything on that.

2. On another device, google 'Canadian Chief Of Police malware' and follow the instructions on how to remove it. Generally, a 'nuke' isn't needed with most malware removal.

3. Don't use IE anymore unless your security settings are maxed out. However there will likely be a problem then with viewing content. This is a trap. So don't use IE anymore.

4. Don't trust adult sites. Most of them are riddled with malware. Seek other ways to view this content.

Hi all, and thanks to those with the mature and helpful replies! Think about what Losing Wth Pride said. When the female saw that, she probably thought one or more of her employees was looking at that sick stuff! When in actuality, they were only looking at something that should've gotten them fired, and not jailed. Imagine if your parents or someone turned on your computer and that is what they saw? These scum need to rott in hell, they're just as bad as the ones conducting the acts. They're using the plight of the innocent tor their own gain. ALSO, that is most deffinately FRAUD, and they need to be the ones in Prision. I've never dealt with this kinda thing before, unreal. No more of that crap for me!

1) Boot computer in Safe Mode.

2) Run an up to date antivirus/spyware program.

If that doesn't work look for a specific fix.

Also, the penalty for distributing child porn had better not just be an anonymous $100 fine. Also, I'm going to add that unless you were viewing content you paid for, you probably were doing something illegal. Any site with malware on it is probably illegally showing copyrighted material.

There is usually no need to wipe your computer for a malware problem. That one you speak of is common. There are a few ways around it to disable it and remove it if you are savvy enough. If you aren't, find someone who is and they will be able to do it no problem.
