[Proposal] Improving bottom 6 & getting proven 2nd line winger

Recommended Posts

*Note: this is assuming the organiztion gives the nod to go for another postseason run and doesn't mind giving up a bit of future*

To Vancouver: Patrick Dwyer

To Carolina: Alex Friesen, 4th round pick

- Friesen is added in to ensure number of contracts stay even for both teams. Canes get a pick to help them in the future as things aren't working for them. Canucks get a heart and soul bottom 6 forward who is a shot blocking expert.

To Vancouver: Marcus Johansson

To Washington: Henrik Tommernes, Jordan Schroeder, conditional 1st if Schroeder does not re-sign

- Vancouver stays competitive and gets younger plus solves it's 3rd line centre issue. Caps get help on D with a solid prospect with top 4 potential and an early round pick. Why does Washington give up Johansson? Who knows, the same reason they gave away Filip Forsberg.

To Vancouver: Radim Vrbata, conditional 3rd round pick if Vrbata does not re-sign

To Phoenix: David Booth, 2nd round pick

- Nucks get a veteran cemented 2nd line scorer who always produces. Coyotes get that PF with top 6 potential if given a chance and lose the hassle of possibly not being able to re-sign him, losing him to FA as he might want to win a Cup. Vancouver also sheds near $1.5 mill with this deal.

New Lineup:

SEDIN - SEDIN - KASSIAN

BURROWS - KESLER - VRBATA

HIGGINS - JOHANSSON - HANSEN

RICHARDSON - SANTORELLI - DWYER

SESTITO/WEISE

HAMHUIS - BIEKSA

EDLER - GARRISON

STANTON - TANEV

WEBER, ALBERTS

LUONGO

LACK

....compared to now, that's a lot more depth and enough to role 4 lines for once and go for a deep run as many of the players are versatile and can slot up down the lineup at anytime.

I'm sorry but why would the caps do this trade? Trade away a former first round, already proven, NHL forward who is putting up 50 point pace seasons the last two years and is only 23 years old. For a defence who has "potential" to be a top 4 pick and a conditional 2nd.

In all honesty are line up is fine. We need to get into a routine, get healthy and everything will start rolling. We've played 6 games and none of those games are yet with a full line up.
