Acquiring three-four different players may seem like a lot of moves, but these pieces are what we need to go on another run:

Potential top six forwards available:

- Thomas Vanek

- Tomas Fleischmann

- Kris Versteeg

- Radim Vrbata

- Nail Yakupov

Potential 3rd line centers available:

- Shawn Matthias

- Antoine Vermette

- Steve Ott

- Marcel Goc

Top six forwards:

To Vancouver: Thomas Vanek (50% of cap hit retained = $3,571,428)

To Buffalo: Jordan Schroeder, Yann Sauve, 2014 1st & 3rd

To Vancouver: Nail Yakupov, 2014 2nd

To Edmonton: Alexander Edler

Third line center:

To Vancouver: Antoine Vermette (25% of cap hit retained)

To Phoenix: David Booth, Alexander Grenier, 2014 2nd

Puck-moving defenseman:

To Vancouver: Brian Campbell (50% retained = $3,571,438)

To Florida: Nicklas Jensen, 2015 1st

Remaining cap: $113,977

Sedin - Sedin - Yakupov

Vanek - Kesler - Kassian

Higgins - Vermette - Burrows

Santorelli - Richardson - Hansen

Hamhuis - Bieksa

Campbell - Garrison

Stanton - Tanev

Out of those listed, what players do you think would be the best fit for the Canucks/easiest to acquire?

2014, 2015 1st round picks are gone and our 2014 3rd. Really? Sell the farm?

Way to impatient, why don't you just wait 2-3 years when Sedins are still good players, Kesler still is a good player and all of our prospects are playing on the roster near their prime?

I don't want to give up that many assets for a streaky forward that won't resign. Same with Campbell who i could see retiring within the next 3 years. I also don't see teams being that enthused to retain cap, especially with the Phoenix trade where they are already acquiring a 4.25 million dollar 3rd liner. And no way Edmonton gives up Yakupov and a second on top of that for Edler.

In regards to the discussion, I would be happy if we picked up Matthias and improved our fourth line maybe by acquiring Cody McCormick.

Oilers would want a lot more for Yakupov.

Vermette has been playing top line minutes in Phoenix so I don't think they want to trade him.

Campbell would be a good addition, but not for that price.

Only way we should trade for Vanek is if we know he'll sign here for a reasonable contract.

Fleischmann would be the one for the Canucks to go for IMO. I think he'd be the best fit, and wouldn't cost too much to acquire. Though we'd have to find a way to trade Booth to make room.
