Drakrami
Ive tried searching for one, can't find it. Obviously the list is going to be subjective, and not every single year the #1 pick is going to be the best player. I'm interested to see which team gets the gem for each year. The Bookie
not exactly what you asked for, but still some good information: REVIEWING THE NHL ENTRY DRAFT 1979 TO 1989 REVIEWING THE NHL ENTRY DRAFT 1990 TO 1999 REVIEWING THE NHL ENTRY DRAFT - 2000 TO 2008
The Bookie
also I want to share this quote from a 2011 article, mainly because it's one of the most hilariously accurate assessments ever made about the draft culture in the nhl: “GMs laugh at us when we tell them to make sure their scouts file their draft reports before they go to the bar for a couple of drinks,” he said. “We tell them this not because the scouts are going to get drunk, but because they tend to talk to each other and before you know it, one person’s opinion becomes everyone’s.” http://www.thestar.c...in_instead.html

goalie13
You're probably best off going to http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/draft/index.html They have every draft by year, and when you click on the year you see the stats on each player from that draft. No subjectivity getting in the way.
Alchemy Time
I would think that in most drafts the "best player" would be up to debate. NMost drafts don't have a Crosby or a Stamkos who are easily the best players from their respective drafts.
Alchemy Time
My list of best picks from 1999-2010 would probably be: 1999: Henrik Sedin 2000: Henrik Lundqvist 2001: Ilya Kovalchuk 2002: Rick Nash 2003: Eric Staal 2004: Alex Ovechkin 2005: Sidney Crosby 2006: Jonathan Toews 2007: Patrick Kane 2008: Steven Stamkos 2009: John Tavares 2010: Probably Hall, maybe Seguin or Skinner
elvis15
You're probably best off going to http://www.hockeydb....raft/index.html They have every draft by year, and when you click on the year you see the stats on each player from that draft. No subjectivity getting in the way. ^ This. It lists the draft picks in order for each year and then has up to date stats beside their names. You can pretty quickly see what players have done better than others, and who were late round steals.
