this yrs run and future team

Recommended Posts

mike gillis has locked most if the core up long term and the teams problem is a lack of goals not defense or goaltending.

vernon fiddler and jagr should be targets for a long playoff run

fiddlers cap hit is 1.8 jagrs is 2.0 trade some draft picks for them and b prospects

if gillis trades weise weber and alberts for anything and waives booth wed have enough room

sedin sedin kassian

burrows kesler jagr

hansen santorelli higgins

richardson fiddler archibald

edler garrison

hamhuis tanev

bieska stanton

corrado

playoff lineup looks sick plus sedin sedin jagr kesler garrison powerplay unit would ge scary

also we should fire our scouts utica is 2-10 we need to sign and draft better young players alot of them are never gonna see nhl action at least we have (shinkaruk horvat and gaunce) in minors

90% of CDC forgot what MG said in his year end interview last year "We need to relook at the practice of acquiring rental players for picks and begin building from within".

Roy and Pahlson come to mind and those were the best players he could get with out selling the farm. You think getting NJ's leading scorer and a top notch center will come without draft picks?

Anyways I know what your getting at but MG has changed his approach to GMing and we saw that at the draft. If we are gonna go on a run might be a few years realistically speaking.

fiddlers cap hit is 1.8

jagrs is 2.0

we have 300k in space so 3.5 would need to be cleared

weise 750

weber 650

alberts 600

so 1.5 more would need to be cleared not sure what waiving booth takes off on cap hit ( it does take a bit off) im sure henning could make it work somehow hes a math ninja

Great. You do realize that Corrrado is the only guy on the Comets who's proven to be capable of playing at the NHL level. What do you propose we do if more than one d-man goes down at a time?

As for the Comets sucking, I guess you haven't noticed that a lot of them have been called up to the Canucks or are out with injuries.

Utica is struggling but most of our good prospects are too young to play there right now. Some of the guys are filling for injuries with the Nucks. They'll be fine!

I like Jagr! He struggled in last years playoffs but he's still got game and he's strong along the boards, and would improve our pp. Fiddler is a good face off guy, decent player. It will be hard to fit them both under the cap. If we waive booth, and he clears, and sent to minors we'd save about 800,000$ or so. Trade another guy like Weise. Hard to fit it all in but doable!
