Thought this article was intersting. Province ran an article about singer Michael buble' s anger over the Robinson show louge disrespecting a legend ,that was honoured to have had this theatre in Vancouver names after him , stripped of the endorsement by the new owners. Buble is pissd. Lol. I actually thought it was incredibley disrespectful to the man as well. Any old school vancouverite I would assume would be upset also that these people would do something embarrassingly disrespectful to a man that had done allot for the city and music in Canada. Ended up signing the petition as well. Lol. Thoughts ?

So new ownership decided to change the name. This isnt a rock and roll museum. Its a business. Get over it.

the reason he is pissed is because they are THE SAME owners ... not new owners ... the same people , and the same company that honoured him , have now dishonoured him .. do some homework before you make a brilliant post ...

good for bubbles .. at least someone in vancouver has balls enough to care about our culture and heritage ...

So what is the problem? Is the owner not allowed to rename his business? And it is not a matter of honouring Mr. Robinson or not dishonouring him. The Casino was paying him for was his name. Either his contract was up or they bought him out.

Anyway most people outside of BC don't have a clue who he is. Or all the immigrants who arrived in the past 30 years. They don't know about him since his acheivement was in the 1950's and 1960's.

If we are going to honour him as part of our heritage, how come not past DJs, like Fred Latremoire or Jack Cullen.

OK so I did some homework and heres my revised post:

I get the feeling that my point remains the same.

Had the chance to meet Red in person a few years ago. Class guy through and through. Deserves all the accolades promised to him.

I'm upset with this decision to change the name of that Lounge but the owners are trying to push their new "Hard Rock Casino" brand. I guess they decided it was time to shake up the lounge too.
