Recommended Posts

Nashville hangs up as soon as they here the word come from gillis , Id like to trade you David.. Nashville hangs up and blocks MG

nobody just hangs up the phone - GMs wouldn't have a job if they didn't at least TRY to negotiate.

Seriously, this Booth hate is way out of hand

This is the thing. Booth is not a bad player. He's quick and has a big body. He can be a decent power forward, probably a good one if paired with the right line mates. He used to show so much promise but his ridiculous series injuries have slowed him down significantly. If he spent an entire season healthy, he can probably put up 40 points or so.

The problem is that he has such a ridiculous cap hit. No team wants to take a cap hit of 4.2 million for a guy that can possibly put up 40 points but will most likely get hurt and be lucky to put up 25. If they take him then they are also stuck with him for another year after this one unless they buy him out. No GM wants to go to their owner and ask them for a buyout. The only teams that can afford to take a cap hit like that and not worry about it are teams like Florida, Colorado, NYI, Calgary, Ottawa, Buffalo, etc. Those teams have little to no use for a third liner who cost that much. Only way to get rid of him is in a package deal where we somehow persuade a team to take him.

God, whenever Booth's name surfaces, posters start talking like we're all living in a tv commercial-promoting his potential like the ultimate detergent..Let it go. If his play magically returned to pre-concussion levels(we'd all convert to his denomination, I'm sure), & MG's phone would be a jinglin'. Ironically then, the masses would clamour to retain, after the second coming of.. It's more likely he'll hook up with Sarah Palin to hunt large game from helicopters.

Let's just hope he's healthy in the summer, so that the paperwork can be done. We've gotta grit this out. As if enduring the dentist's drill for your tooth can be salvaged. It's noisy & pain-filled; but you'll smile tomorrow, with a big toothy grin like someone I know of...
