Luongo not likely to be the # 1 goalie for Canada

I heard it on team 1040.......I can't recall who they were talking to, but the guy basically said insiders and people in the know told him Babcock was not a big fan of Luo's......so unless he plays lights out, or Price plays bad in his game, its Price's team to carry.

Last time Luo was a back up at the Olympics he ended being the starter and winning gold. Just like 2010 when it was Brodeurs to lose, it's now Price's to lose.

If it was Brodeur's to lose in 2010, it's Luongo's to lose now.

Price has to outplay him. He has yet to win a game on this stage.

Price is the hotter goalie going in to the Olympics. It's his to lose. People need to lose the homer goggles and take a reality check.

That is true but if Luongo got more support over the losing streak than he's had his numbers would look a lot better.

The guy you heard on team 1040 was Doug Maclean who bashes the canucks everytime he is on the air. But when hockey central had Babcock on he stressed he would rely on the more experienced goalie but will give both goalies a start. It makes perfect sense to give Luongo the second start so he's loose and ready to go, not to have him play a game rest and start all over vs. Finland.
