CANUCKS FTW!
Reinhart or Dal Colle would be awesome because Reinhart is good with Horvat and DC is good with Cassels.
Smashian Kassian
If EDM loses out on Ekblad. Our 1st Hutton/Cederholm and our 2nd? EDM drafts Fleury and we would have Bennett or Reinhart fall to us. Oh you mean with our regular pick. I don't think that would do it but maybe. If we get 1st overall though, I would look at that 4th overall pick, NYI has the option to give to BUF or hold off till next year, so if the Isles keep it, Strome + 4th for 1st + something else from us. Or if BUF gets that picks. 1st to BUF for 4th + Grigorenko/McCabe/Zadorov/Armia/Pysyk
NucksCup2015
would it not be fitting for us to somehow in the lottery and get first overalland buffalo gets second?didn't buffalo get first in 1970 and us second where they got Gibert Perrault?YupLaw of Average time, time for the universe to even things up! Absent Canuck
2014 isn't that deep. But that doesn't matter for us with a 6 or 7 pick. That being said this years draft isn't weak, I would say average. It is weak in its depth outside to the top 15. You have less than a 50% chance of the pick ever playing an NHL game. Another thing is there is no superstar player . The closest to it is Ehlers and Ekblad and Ehlers is a risk. (one I definitely want to take) Drafting 1 to 4 gives a solid first line /first pairing player . Picks 5-10 are solid players who will be at least 2nd liners After that is a crap shoot in my opinion. Ossi Vaananen
Well if ISS has their way, then one of the top 5 drops as a European takes the 5th spot: http://www.isshockey.com In this list Draisaitl falls to 6th. It's not out of the question that one of those guys drops, just highly unlikely. Additionally a team could put more emphasis upon getting a defensemen, meaning Fleury could find his way to the top 5. I don't see teams drafting Fleury in top 5. I see them trading down and getting a bit extra while drafting Fleury at most likely 6-8th is a safe bet to get him, trading any lower is risky. R3aL
If we pick 6th 6.2% chance we will win lotto. --> We Draft 1st Overall 76.8% chance a team 1-5 wins the lotto and our pick remains unchanged. --> We Draft 6th Overall 17% Chance a team 7-14 wins the lotto and our pick moves back one. --> We Draft 7th Overall
baumerman77
It is my understand that we can technically pick: 1st overall if we win 6th-8th depending on the lottery Please everyone we all like MDC but he is a lock for the top 4 and we won't take him if we win the draft lottery so the only shot we have at MDC is if we trade up. If we win lotto we draft Reinhart. Teams in the top 5 could potential might want to draft Fleury if Ekblad does not fall to them, EDM could. So those teams would probably trade down to 6-8th and draft Fleury while getting a little extra from the trade. This is speculation of course
UFCanuck
All Canadian teams are tanking because Edmonton and Toronto made it look like so much fun. I know it was 2 years ago but I include Montreal for Galchenyuk. #TankNation

I didn't hear that, I just think BUF would have alot of interest cause then they could get Ekblad and Reinhart, and what an add that would be for their rebuild. davinci
After 1-5 picks of bennett, reinhart, ekblad, MDC, LD... it seems like I wouldn't care out of nylander, JV, ritchie, perlini, ehlers, kapenen, mcann The hope after looking at Bob's rankings.... most drafts contain alot of movement. Derp...
Food for thought. If you ask me Dal Colle is on another level from everyone else that could potentially be around when we pick. His hands and shot are absolutely elite. I really like McCann's game as well. Virtanen Ritchie Perlini would be good picks as well. Draistle, Nylander, I just don't have enough info on, but they have talent for sure. Dal Colle https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLas6fFmHl4 Ritchie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RztPZLG34D0 McCann https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Umr1Ip5SimU Perlini https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6jLp1eoy_E Nylander https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8gWVmHf0VE Draistl http://www.whl.ca/video/index/id/1c78bd99e33a0cc02a377ca3719eacce Ehlers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnujGjt-pNU Bennett https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svCdZiNfbvg We should really trade up to 4th so we can either get Dal Colle or Bennett. BIg difference in my opinion as far as how high their ceilings are compared to most available at our pick.
CRAZY_4_NAZZY
That would be a very poor decision by management if we trade the pick and don't get a player in return. And besides, there's still some good talent in the 6-10 range, Ritchie, Kapanen, Nylander, Fleury, Ehlers, Virtanen etc.. If we end up with 6th I'd like to see us take Nylander if no one falls out of the top 5. ^^ Just because you don't draft specific players in the top 5, does not mean the rest are busts. Very likely the player at 6 or 7 might turn out better than the first 5 picks.
Easton76
My order is: Ekblad Bennett Reinhart Dal Colle Draistl Ritchie/Ehlers Ehlers put up over a 100 points so he has undeniable talent but he's a bit small....on the flip side Ritchie is a monster at 6 ft 3 230lbs and 126 penalty mins but not as offensively gifted. 250Integra
I have a feeling Canucks will either package Kesler or Edler and trade up, or trade their pick down.
