[Game]- Make an all-star team based on former players for each CHL league

Recommended Posts

Just for fun I thought I would see how good a team I could make based entirely on current NHL players who played in the WHL, OHL and QMJHL.

So far I've only done the WHL team. Amazing defence (arguably better than even Team Canada's), great goaltending and good wingers but centres are a bit weaker.

Benn Getzlaf Eberle

Marleau RNH E. Kane

Lucic Hossa Doan

Ladd Dubinsky Versteeg

Extras: Lupul, Ignila, Gallagher

Chara Weber

Keith Seabrook

Hamhuis Phaneuf

Bouwmeester

Didn't make the cut: Green, Myers, Byfuglien, Edler, Coburn, L. Schene

Price

Ward

Harding

thoughts?

Will post OHL and Q teams later.

QMJHL = All the Rimouski alumni you could think of.

Perron - Crosby - Bergeron

Marchand - Krejci - Pominville

Brassard - Giroux - Couturier

Dupuis - Richards - Ribeiro

Parenteau, Vermette, Ryder

Yandle - Letang

Vlasic - Kulikov

Demers - Oduya

Beauchemin

Luongo

Fleury

Bernier

Left out smaller guys like Hemsky and Briere because of size. The team is stacked with centres and very little wing support. Had to push a lot of guys out to the wing.

OHL team

Hall Stamkos Kane

Landeskog Tavares Carter

Duchene Couture Perry

Speeza Seguin Brown

Thornton

Subban Doughty

Pietrangelo Girardi

M. Staal Fowler

Campbell

Smith

Anderson

Amazining centres but defence falls off after top 3 and goaltending is wearker than WHL and Loblaws Q team.

Edited to include missed players suggested by Bob.Loblaw.

You could have Campbell and Giordano instead. And don't forget the Americans... Fowler, Kane and Brown.

*BUMP* I keep hearing about the USA National Team Development Program in recent drafts and they've produced quite a few stars as well.

J.v.R. - Kesler - P. Kane

Saad - Bjugstad - Kessel

Higgins - Umberger - Brown

Foligno -Wilson - Nystrom

// Shore, Palmieri, Etem, Eaves, Mueller, Booth, Coyle, Schroeder, Gerbe, Hayes, Morin...

Carle - Suter

J. Johnson - Shattenkirk

Fowler - Faulk

// E. Johnson, Leddy, Liles, Leopold, McBain...

Howard

Schneider

Montoya

Not great, but still a solid team. Someone mind posting one for the NCAA? Really want to see what different programs produce.

Thanks for this bump, I was looking at a few 2014 draft prospects from this program and wondering how success it has been in producing NHLers. Did these players just player in the USHL or all play for the US Development Team, if it's just one team that's pretty impressive.
